Full Story:
After 20 years of getting nowhere, Empress Kush was about to give up on music. Having nearly made up her mind to let go of a decades-long quest to fulfill what she long viewed as her destiny, she began watching videos of people who have accomplished great things, seeking knowledge that would assist her in improving her character and therefore her results. One man in particular stood out to her, and she found three quotes of his to be life-changing.

“Most people will panic to find a charger before their phone dies, but won’t panic to find a plan before their dream dies.”

“When something is important enough, you’ll do it, even if the odds are not in your favor.”

“Don’t doubt your vibe, because it’s you.”

As she found this man quite attractive in both looks and personality, she developed a starry-eyed celebrity crush on the intriguing figure. Then, one fateful day in December 2021, a sudden inspiration electrified her into action. Catalyzed by her celebrity crush and his impactful words, Empress Kush employed her signature style to channel the brash flagship track upon which the rest of the album is built.

Using an unconventional proprietary method to spur her brain into absurd heights of imagination, Empress Kush engineered twelve odes inspired by her celebrity crush. Set to beats constructed by her producer, Darren Vegas, the songs on “Celebrity Crush” display the full breadth of Empress Kush’s vocal skills. From Darren’s signature West Coast Hip Hop sound to pop, funk, and R&B styled tracks, “Celebrity Crush” takes the listener on an unexpected journey through the phases of Empress Kush’s romantic interest in a man she has, as of the date of publication, never met.
