The Hempolics are out to put those organic rootsy vibes back into music; with their fat radio-friendly hooks, bumping soundsystem bass and a wanderlusty, ineffably real sound all of their own...

Over years of recording top international talent The Hempolics enigmatic leader, Grippa Laybourne, has been carefully honing his own masterpiece and selecting a gang armed and dangerous enough to execute it. The Hempolics caused an instant stir with their single Serious which hit number one in the UK reggae charts and was playlisted on Massive Attack’s BBC takeover.

New debut album ‘Kiss, Cuddle & Torture Vol. 1’ has seen the band erupt with three singles playlisted by BBC6 Music and support from Steve Lamacq, Toddla T, Rodigan & Don Letts to name a few. Liz Kershaw selected the album on her ‘all killer, no filler’ best albums of the past 30 years and invited the band to play her BBC anniversary show after hearing them smash a live session for Lauren Laverne on BBC6. It’s not just on radio that the band have been breaking with album track ‘Samurai’ synced to the worldwide trailer for Coen Brothers and George Clooney film ‘Hail, Caesar!’

Sounding like the i-pod of the attention-deficit generation and swelled by guest appearances from various international talents The Hempolics have a storm brewing that promises to tear up the UK music scene. Recording underground style throughout the bedrooms and home studios of the band The Hempolics have created an infectious mash-up of Reggae, Electro, Hip-Hop, Soul, Rock and Pop. Although the weather out might be dull London-side it’s strictly sunshine vibes, resplendent with huge hooks and festival friendly choruses. These are tunes that people will be bopping to across festivals, clubs and car journeys for years to come.

The Hempolics pedigree recordings are combined with tight as a tick live performances – honed at their own underground club night in London – and they are amongst the up and coming acts to watch. They are the brainchild of veteran sound engineer and record producer Grippa Laybourne. Core vocalists, the empyreal Nubiya and devilishly dashing Dandelion, combine together impeccably, with Dan’s brother Harry sometimes stepping in with his own smooth tones. The rest of the band comprises of deft bassist Lorenzo, Leon King who ranks up there with the finest Reggae/Dub guitarists around and the exceptional Craig Boorman on drums.

Ghost Rider’s music (Vlad Krivoshein) feels like being sucked into a huge particle accelerator where elements from the worlds of Progressive Trance and Psytrance collide. Emitting high amounts of energy, they merge into something new, an enigmatic reaction that opens wormholes all over the dance floor. It's this innovative fusion of deeply hypnotic atmospheres and light, uplifting grooves that make Ghost Rider an instant success as can be seen with his first EP, which was released on Iboga Rec in 2012. Only one year later Ghost Rider was invited to perform his highly demanded debut album Complextro live, at major festivals all around the world. His performances encompass the most acclaimed dance parties in the world's including A State Of Trance (ASOT) (Netherlands) , Universo Paralello (Brazil) , XXXPERIENCE (Brazil) , Airbeat One (Germany) and many more .. Vlad began producing music at the young age of 14, a factor that explains his outstanding technical precision. Whereas his up-lifting Psytrance project Magneto explains his great knowledge of the mechanics of mind-alerting dance music. As can be seen from his background, it is no surprise that Ghost Rider is also one half of Class A, a project spearheads along with Ranji, Ghost Rider has collaborated with many acclaimed artists such as Neelix, Morten Granau, Phaxe and more. His music has been released on labels such as Iboga, Armada, Spin Twist, Blue Tunes and 432. His music is consistently played by major artists such as Vini Vici, Armin Van Buuren, Neelix and more. OKULI is the collaborative Drum & Bass/Neurofunk project of two Melbourne based producers Angus Green and Tabula Rasa / Schwarr (Michael Kesa).

Both artists are already established and respected contributors to the Australian bass music scene, with a number of successful releases with independent label Adapted Records. However, Okuli displays a fresh approach to the duo's production, combining their previous experience with new techniques that results in tight and gritty composition.

Okuli's music is best described as rich, snarling basslines, tight and hard-hitting drums, coarse de-tuned leads and intricate rhythms. It incorporates elements from artists such as Phace, Mefjus, Billain, Emperor, Noisia and other heavyweights into a polished, yet unique sound.

With support building for these two young producers from the likes of Twisted Audio, Mindtech records and many others, you can expect to see, and hear, a lot more from them in the near future.
