Ravi Gunslinger - Slug Man (Slug FM Edition)

As you all know Ravi loves to push boundaries. It's kinda his thing. 

A year ago, whilst searching for some answers to questions, Soft Gunge Records offered Ravi the opportunity to spend the year as a slug. In return for spending a year as a slug Ravi would be given a lifetime of perfect health. As part of the deal Ravi also agreed to record an EP about slug year (rather than the previously agreed Malcolm in the Middle album - Ravi is a *huge* malcolm-head, or malc-head as is the usual convention in malc-head online communities such as r/malc-head).

For many, spending a year as a slug would be at minimum undesirable. The slug life is no easy feat. You don't have limbs, nor any effective methods of communication. It's a lonely existence. Especially if you have to live it with the memories of being able to walk with legs and eat with hands.

But not for Ravi. This is his art. I mean, what's more punk than metamorphosis? A John Lydon endorsed pale ale at a Brew Dog pub? Maybe. But apart from that, there isn't anything else more punk than turning into a slug and then back into human again in exchange for a lifetime of perfect human health. In any case John Lydon isn't really punk any more. A bit like a neatly stroked cover drive isn't really cricket anymore. Or how using a Jamie Oliver cookbook for inspiration isn't considered to be "proper" cooking. 

This record documents Ravi's year as a slug.

Side A is the originally planned Slug Man EP and on side B, the infamous Slug FM broadcast (presented by Morgan Slugman) featuring a re-working of The Many Days of Slug Year, a Parquet Courts cover as well as some special appearances from friends of Ravi G.
