The Dance Mania original house music revival continues apace as Strut teams up with the seminal Chicago label once more for an exclusive Record Store Day EP, with a limited edition of 1,000 copies. Following Strut’s Dance Mania retrospective <i>Hardcore Traxx</i> in February, this new EP mines the deeper parts of the revered archive once more for three bona fide dancefloor burners.

On the A-side, Drewsky’s "Wigged Out" is culled from the Phase II EP from 1994, and was produced by DJ Deeon and mixed by DJ Milton. Cut during the same year, Club Style’s "Spirit" is secret weapon from the Dance Mania catalogue, lifted from a quality one-off house / tech EP recorded by Paul Johnson and Robert Armani.

On the flip, an unreleased subtle house gem, recently rediscovered on a 2-inch reel from Parris Mitchell’s Rhythm II Rhythm moniker.

After a great response from Ejeca’s ‘Frequency‘ EP previously released on Sasha's imprint 'Last Night On Earth' in January 2013, the label continues to support his sound by releasing a new 4 track EP called ‘Contemplation’ that will be available on the 14th July consisting of a wide range of electronics from Ejeca’s many musical influences.

Never one to stick with a particular sound for too long, Ejeca has constantly explored numerous styles, reflecting his own eclectic taste in music and shows that he has no strict music policy. Just good quality and interesting electronic music, which is exactly what ‘Contemplation’ and Last Night On Earth are all about.

Well how do you follow up Young and Companys smash hits on Brunswick records. Pretty hard I hear you say. After the best seller "I like what you are doing to me" the group carried on talks with the heads at Brunswick. There was a stale mate on contract details and buddy hankerson decided to shelve the few demos he had recorded with his new group Buddy Hank and The Shine Band.  We grabbed the reels from his brothers place on the East Coast and thought we couldn't miss the opportunity to get them transferred and hear what was on them....We wasn't disappointed!!

One of Dessous‘ key recording artists, and something of a legend in his own right, Phonique returns triumphant with his next EP: ‘Vincent Price‘, a digital only release. Three tracks of pushing, warm and melodic modern House music are presented with all the high standard and gusto that we‘ve come to expect from one of Berlin‘s longest standing producers.

Lead track ‘Vincent Price‘ is a conceptual slice of nu-wave electronic disco. Emerging elegantly from atmospheric field recordings, a haunting moog-style synth refrain leads us into open, warm and almost balearic zones. Wonderfully melancholic, and dramatically charged at its peak, ‘Vincent Price‘ could just as easily be the soundtrack to a stunning cine- matic scene, as it could be tomorrow‘s next club hit. A reduced and more straightforward ‚dub‘ version is also included for lovers of the hypnotic groove.

With its melodic flourishes and insistent, powerful groove, we are urged to ‘Turn Off The Lights‘ as ‘Baku‘ takes to the scene. Smooth, growing harmonic elements wash over us in ethereal glory as this emotional journey works its way into our psyche.

Originally released as an ultra-limited 12" on Philomena [which are now fetching upwards of £200 on Discogs] Glasgow Underground is re-issuing the classic Dixon edit of Romanthony's The Wanderer. Much in the spirit of the original/Prescription Underground "CD #9 Version" [which Michael Mayer puts in his all time great dance records] Dixon delivers a sun-kissed, bass-heavy groove that is pure Panorama Bar house music at its very best. This will be a limited 500 only hand spray-painted release.
