It has always been interesting to view "The American Dream" from afar; the insatiable appetite for success that informs the choices and aspirations of the Super Power of the Western World. This song was written during the 2016 election when it seemed absolutely baffling that Trump was running for President, let alone that he won. It's not trivial, but somehow it didn't seem real. It was like another TV show streaming "same day as the US" but the consequences have been devastating for many.

We now know that it is not sustainable. Consumerism, materialism, capitalism. All of this leading to millions homeless, left behind and forgotten by their own government. At least, that's what it looks like from afar.
