Like many electronic artists, Ryan Lee West aka Rival Consoles spent his early years experimenting with IDM, glitch and dance, but one consistent element in his musical journey has been his desire to create a more organic, humanised sound. Through these experimentations he has found a process of producing electronic music that feels close to this urge. Restricting himself to a small selection of analogue equipment, West engages his hands directly with instruments and is very selective about what he then records into the computer. He reduces musical parts even further, leaving enough space around the sound for it to breath.

‘Odyssey’ is a reflection of West’s quest to create atmosphere and space from minimal arrangements. ‘I don’t like music to sound overly laboured, so I restrict how much is going on. I’m kind of obsessed with the idea of reduction.’ The new 5-track EP was mastered by Naweed and is out on Erased Tapes.

'‘Odyssey’ and ‘Voyager’ are both incredibly stripped down and have a great sense of space throughout them. It's all about using the right ingredients at the right points in time. A lot of these ingredients are short recordings, such as ice cracking, mechanical clicks, clicks from synth errors, sounds of debris, guitar plucks etc., which interact with the simple arrangements and create little hints of rhythm. I also love the technique of swelling in music, but I realised that hardly anyone has done that in electronic music. So when I first got the synth to swell in and out with the opening chords of ‘Philip’, it was a great moment. Because it creates a human mood in a matter of seconds, which is very difficult to do with electronic sounds. That track is very important to me, and I think it will influence how I make music in the future.’ – Ryan Lee West

Endless Mystery est née de la passion d’un jeune producteur de musique électronique du sud de la France. Dès son enfance, il est attiré par ces sonorités prenantes, envoutantes et lourdes où s’entremêlent avec émotions basses puissantes et rythmiques endiablées. 
Il commence ses premières productions à l’âge de 15 ans sur des machines comme la TB 303, Yamaha Rm1x, accompagné de samplers Roland et d’un clavier Yamaha DX7 ; avant de passer aux logiciels. S’en suit une pause de quelques années, à profiter du son des meilleurs festivals du sud de la France.
C’est au Bar Live,  célèbre after montpelliérain, qu’il découvre alors la Techno Minimal. Vient alors une évidence : se remettre à la création. Sans relâche, il enchaine les petites productions grâce à  Ableton Live. 
Puis, début 2014, il se lance dans un nouveau projet, Endless Mystery. De là, les sorties s’enchainent, comme son premier Ep Dysfunktion sorti sur le label Terracotta, ou encore sa première collaboration aux coté de John Kah, qui leur valut le premier prix d’un concours organisé par le label Malice recordz et ainsi leur première sortie sur support vinyle. 
Son live, sur le point d’être achevé, ne laissera sans doute pas indifférents ceux qui l’écouteront lors de ces futures dates.

Endless Mystery was born to a young electronic music producer of the south of France. Since his childhood, he's attracts by this biwitching sonorities, and louders where massive basses and crazy rhythmics.
He begins his first products at the age of 15 years old on musical machine like the TB 303, Yamaha Rm1x, accompanied by Roland samplers and a Yamaha DX7 keyboard; before going to software.
He takes a breakof several years, enjoying the sound of the best festivals of south of France.
It's on the Bar Live, famous montpellierain "after hours" , he discovers the Minimal techno music. Coming like an obvious: get back to create.
Working hard, he keeps the small productions thanks to Ableton Live.
Then, since 2014, he started in a new project, Endless Mystery.
Then, the productions follow on, like his first EP "Dysfunktion" born on the Terracota label, or even his first collaboration alongside John Kah,  in fact, they received the first price of the "Malice recordz label" challenge, and in fact, their first product on vinyle support.
His live, underway to finalise, will impress everyone those who'll listen this on the future dates.
