-how did that happen: I've always loved electronic music and had been going to events regularly for many years. I'd also met most of my closest friends on a dancefloor in previous years, with a few of them already playing within the music industry. My partner had been encouraging me to try learning to mix for years, and one day I finally decided to give it a go...I instantly fell in love with it. 

-genre: the genre of this podcast is melodic techno & house. My favourite genres are progressive house and deep/melodic techno & house. 

-favourite place: Berlin

-favourite track (for the moment): Rainbow- Matan Caspi 

-favourite food: ...such a tough question. I love food. My life revolves around my stomach. I love Japanese food; so I'd say Ramen is one of my favourite foods. 

-other hobbies: travelling, running, cooking, going to the beach (my happy place), partying (of course :P ) 

-places where I want to play: I was really lucky to achieve one of my dreams of playing at Revolver Upstairs earlier this year. The big dream would be to play at a well known festival in Victoria (anc across the world) called Rainbow Serpent. It has the most incredible prog/melodic techno from artists across the world and the most unique vibes out of any festival I've experienced around the world. I would also love to have the opportunity to play at Kater Blau and Sisyphos one day in the future :) 

-where do I see my musical future: playing events and festivals that showcase more progressive/melodic music. I've also been learning music production and would like to release my own tracks eventually. 

-upcoming events: I'm due to play at a small day Festival in a couple of weeks, and also to play at the next instalment of Mama Said the next day (which is my favourite event in Melbourne at the moment). 

- I want to get rid of: In an ideal world I would love to get rid of the judgemental stigma that sometimes occurs when people see older people partying at events (probably much more common in Australia as we're sometimes more conservative than Europe with the views on partying). The love of music doesn't fade with age, so i think it's great that people continue to go to events at any stage of their lives :) 

-message for the Weltenblummer podcast: The Weltenblummer podcast series is amazing and showcases so many talented artists that play all kinds of beautiful music. Music really does have the power to brighten up people's days, especially during challenging times with COVID/lockdowns. Thank you so much for the opportunity to do a podcast <3

This week we welcome the hugely talented Berliner and KaterBlau resident Mona Moore for episode #28 of the show.

Berlin-based Mona Moore has been a passionate lover of electronic music since the year 2000. Sooner or later, she had to venture behind the decks. She had her debut in "her living room" as she calls KaterBlau. Even outside of Berlin, Mona Moore has already presented the audience her music, which she calls a deep groovy and melodic techno / deep house.
Meanwhile she also has a own monthly radio show and she is also the organizer of the event series "Enorm in Form" at KaterBlau. In the pandemic period, she has started to produce music and the first track will be released in June 2021 together with Stan Starry.
Her philosophy when she is playing: "Sharing the love of music and thereby forgetting a few hours of space and time"

Die in Berlin lebende Mona Moore ist schon seit dem Jahr 2000 passionierte Liebhaberin der Elektronischen Musik, so musste es früher oder wie in Ihrem Fall etwas später dazu kommen das sie sich auch mal hinter den Mixer wagt. It wasn't until late that Lars aka Fôrvert began his DJ career, but took a relatively fast foot. First under his bourgeois name, he set up in Frankfurt, Gießen and Fulda at trendy events. His musical style is characterised by old school hip hop influences at the time, rather deep melodic, but also often technoid.

Since 2011, Ed Russell has been moulding a style of dance music under the names Tessela, that has evolved to become a distinctly futuristic animal that is equal parts rave, jungle and techno as it incorporates classic breaks into delirious new mutations.  
The three tracks on this EP all follow on from his superb 'Hackney Parrot' track (released earlier this year on Poly Kicks), but evolve his sound even further...

"Nancy's Pantry" combines bruising kick drums and some slick editing of the Think break, before plunging headlong into thundering techno...

"Horizon's" percolating hi hats and rough-hewn percussion roll off repeating chords that recall the heady days of rave...

"Gateway's" uncomplicated arrangement of high hats, sub bass, siren like synths and quaking kick drums rattle through the track's chassis and club soundsystems...

Early supporters include Ben UFO, Pariah, Surgeon, Pearson Sound and Paul Woolford aka Special Request - testement to what might be Tessela's most lethal offering yet.

David Orin, one of New York's finest gentlemen, jumps on the deck for the latest Selectors. He's enjoying a stellar couple of months; unveiling a a glorious single on All Day I Dream, as well as gracing this year's Blanche with the groovy Magenta, a collaboration he put together with his good mate Wassu. This week, he checks off another career milestone with his debut on Anjunadeep. It's safe to say all eyes are on David as we dive into the new year, and there is nobody more deserving.
