Ecstatic is proud to welcome new signing Mattheis to the label. Having already gained many fans for his work on the Clone affiliated Nous'Klaer label, Mattheis now graduates to his first full length, entitled 'Luminous Frames’. 

Expanding on the promise of his earlier work, his hallucinogenic arpeggio explorations call to mind the synth driven kosmiche sounds of late 70s and early 80s Germany, this Klaus Schulze, Cluster, Harald Grosskopf and Manuel Gottsching as well as contemporaries James Holden and Steve Moore. ‘Luminous Frames’  takes the listener on an ethereal drift through five masterfully constructed soundscapes of billowing synth drones and enveloping sequences.

Christian Loffler - Unknown

According to your favorite dictionary, Synergy is the creation of a whole that is greater than the simple sum of its parts. It also happens to be the beating heart behind Three Machines, a passion project that brings together Tarek Majdalani and Sleiman Damien, two of the most celebrated producers and DJs in the Middle East.

One is a veteran of sorts, a driving force that has pioneered the rise of Beirut’s pulsating nightlife and music industry, leaving his mark on the airwaves and on the dance floors, playing the biggest venues in the region and sharing the stage with numerous international acts.

The other is a product of scientific malpractice and classified government mischief, with more major credits and events under his belt than should be allowed by state law for someone who has only recently reached voting age.

The unlikely twosome got together under otherwise normal conditions, through business arrangements and mutual acquaintances. In hindsight, it is absolutely safe to say that the first meeting only happened because the universe got bored with itself and a nuclear disaster seemed like overkill at the time.

Together, they relentlessly churn out intricate systems of sounds that would feel right at home in obscure basements, majestic cathedrals and colossal open spaces alike.

Their music is a soundtrack to the cosmos, an ode to the infinitely small, a celebration of the infinitely big, a study of human nature and all of its complex, beautiful imperfections. Most importantly, it does not conform to any pre-defined genre classification.

Classically trained but forward-thinking, enlightened but progressive, the two gears that keep Three Machines running vow to use and abuse the medium, then move on to its hot cousin

Jiggler’s first offering of the year comes in the form of two original mood setters and Kellerkind on duty for a remix of the title track. “Illusions” kicks off with an ascending groove, layering up arpeggiated synths and subtle vocal cuts. Relentless bass and a steady pace create a solid progression, upholding dancefloor tension even after the breakdown. Bringing the vocals forward as the focal point, Kellerkind morphs the track into a heavy progressive exploration. Led by a gloomy, wobbling bass and mechanised cuts, we’re treated to a more spacious and playful take on the initial arrangement. “Wanting” stays true to its name, revealing an anticipation-building percussion dotted with clangs that give way to a rolling house bassline. Transient vocals and high pitched synths join in, resulting in an addictive classic house cut with a deep twist.
