Tsunami Empathy is a five track EP by the newly established label Emotional Voyage Records. After their first release in form of 12 track  VA their second release comes with productions by Moodrich.The EP is a collection of atmospheric emotional breaks and includes a remix by UrbnMowgli.

The tracks are a fast moving blend of organic breakbeat rhythms with lush melodies and spherical pads leaving room for thoughts in timeless sonic fields.

Moodrich: Tsunami Empathy was made in middle of overwhelming feelings and it’s symbolic for finding peace within disorder and the acceptance of unpleasant emotions.
It’s about the emotional experience of feelings.

Get Physical Music family members Karol XVII & MB Valence unveil their stunning new album, ‘Essay’, in February 2022. Following well-received teaser singles, the full album is a storytelling trip through many shades of heartfelt house.

Polish pair Karol XVII & MB Valence have been a key part of the global dance scene for more than a decade. In that time, they have established their own Loco Records, been nominated as Best Deep House Artists at the Beatport Music Awards and have continued to push the genre forwards. Drawing on their backgrounds as composers and sound engineers, the duo has put out plenty of singles on Get Physical and contributed to 2020's 'Retrospective,' but ‘Essay’ is their boldest artistic statement to date.

The lovely atmosphere of 'Old Memories' opens the album with dreamy ambience and soothing breakbeats before 'Aqua' sinks you into a vast and pillowy deep house groove. It's a gorgeous track detailed with delicate synths. The lead single 'Whispers' is another stylish and seductive track featuring Johannesburg native and vocalist Lazarusman, before Jono McCleery features on 'Fool's Gold,' a richly melodic and harmonic lullaby with vulnerable vocals.

Real late night tension defines 'Echoes & The Beauty' (Jackspeare Interpretation) with its frazzled synths and mysterious rolling beats, while 'Disharmony' is characterised by uneasy, unsettling synth motifs that loop over more cavernous deep house drums. The fascinating album continues through the absorbing dub house and delicate pads of 'Waterfall Drops.' Another Jackspeare Interpretation, this time of 'Sonus,' makes for perfectly meditative and melancholic listening, and 'Bang Bang' then layers soft shakers over big rubbery kicks while a sensuous vocal hangs in the air. The stunning 'Jackspeare Theme' is nearly four minutes of suspensory cosmic ambiance and the album then plays out with the organic broken beats of 'Digisong,' electro-tinged future soul of 'Universum' (Jackspeare Original Interpretation), and pensive synth craft of sublime closer 'Humanity.'

‘Essay’ is the sumptuous sound of two producers at their very best.

When the rush wears off, relaxation sets in. It figures. Yet, it is not easy to strike the right chord for every era musically. Taron-Trekka is familiar with both: the exhilarating turmoil and pushing of a club night as well as the soothing decay and the eager beginning of the night. One simply hears this in their countless tracks. The new EP “Pourpre Sable” focuses on the beginnings and the endings: when things go calmer, continuously or reconvened, when conversations, thoughts and memories mingle with gliding grooves, when the synapses are fully attuned to deepness.
 
However, the three tracks are not making do with reduced, dimmed house arrangements – despite those very three being a truly big deal in terms of deepness. No way, Taron-Trekka have snatched Violet Starfish.  Their casual, yet almost intimate singsong gives the tracks a spoken word profundity that will melt in one’s mouth. Never intrusive, never put-on. Instead, subtly entangled with the grooves and chords. Storytelling on and beside the dancefloor.

”Okular“
In decelerated fashion, ”Okular“ shifts through entwined string sections, flushed by a few brightly flashing key strokes on the synth. In addition, a brief smile from Violet Starfish. Super deep.

”Shera“
The atmosphere remains dimmed, but the bass drum is a lot tighter. ”Shera“ focuses on field recordings of a distant road, on few, concise sounds and the voice of Violet Starfish. Is this the prime time peeking out or can we expect any more to happen today?

”The Willow Tree“
A track with classical potential. Gently vibrant house chords amid dynamic bass drums and percussions, Violet Starfish at its best. A shimmer in the air and all of a sudden, the sun is flooding the floor with all its warmth.

Good things take time – ideally, including a great deal of oomph. At least when it concerns new tracks from within Monkey Maffia’s inner circle. It has been four whole years since we received the momentary last piece of the “Monkey Maffia Music Club”, 12 inches full of funky nasty beasts dedicated to the best dancefloors of this world. In the meantime, a remix was released here and a track was presented there, but now we may once again enjoy a full load of Monkey Maffia. And on top of that the now 75th release of Freude am Tanzen!
Monkey Maffia is personally providing the soundtrack for this ceremonial occasion. His tracks continually supply tremendous amounts of oomph to parties as well as loads of gravity and funk. After all, as an experienced DJ he simply knows what an awesome night looks like – a straight bass drum fractured while simultaneously amplified with infinitely warm synths. On one track, bass and percussion are throwing all our worries overboard, on the next one pads and vocals are shimmering to the bet. Whatever may happen, it can be said with utmost certainty that it will never become boring on either secular flat earth.

A1 – Bad Or Good?
A total brain and leg screw, that spins and spins and spins. Any DJ willing to test how much funk a dancefloor can bear up to the third decimal place, will be perfectly served with this track as proof.

A2 – Fake Heroes
Short reminder, but detailed clattering minimal with soul does still exist. At first, “Fake Heroes” frostily shines through aerial heights; however, then submerges all the more into unforeseen depths.

B1 – MiniMi
Somehow jazzy, but was meant as house. Similarly hypnotic, equally free. Common thread is the bass drum, along which anything is possible. File under: secret weapon for truly late hours and DJs with guts.

B2 – Schörless
This is a track that sends Larry Heard on an Orient trip and thereby extends over a much longer period than its brief four-and-a-half-minute length. For all those who are still serious about “deep” in house.

Surfing the tip of a wave crashing through techno, DJ Traytex is on a mission to bring together adventurous trance and breakbeat with ambient soundscapes and vocals in his sound. Cerebral and emotive as it is atmospheric and danceable, his music is just much for the person sitting on the train imagining themselves in the movie of their own lives as for the raver at 5am, dancing to the end of the world and back again (…and again, and again).

His multi-faceted approach to style and genre shows in his output both as an artist and DJ, where his desire to unlock the expressive potential of breakbeat through the force of trance comes together with wanting to offer an audience space in their mind and soul. The result is a style that is dreamlike and cutting, fast but reflective – altogether, techno that can give the raver a 140BPM release, all while keeping a spacious atmosphere. As it is and kind-of always has been, combining influences from old, existing trends tends to open the door to something new.

His debut release with the Back Then EP on LOSER Records showcases his skill with ambient breaks, with light, glittering melodies that trip over deep basslines and punchy rhythms. Hazy moods combine with sharp precision in the bass and melody, hinting towards the techno emerging from Bavaria and Copenhagen and the faster pace of his remixes and sets as a DJ. Soft, meandering cadences and flowing landscapes combine with a thumping, sometimes brittle drive in the breaks, and it’s not hard to feel how Alessio has spent good time measuring how sound can be used to present the ever-shifting formula between human thought and emotion. Although the tone is sentimental, the perception is super-sharp.

While other kids played on PlayStation, Alessio was busy getting to grips with Ableton after his elder brother introduced him to it at the age of 12, at which point he was laying the groundwork with drums and different rhythms that would ultimately come to fuel his passion for breakbeat within techno. Since then, he’s journeyed from origins in southern Germany through experimental music production as duo Battery Flex with his best friend Leo to a move to Berlin and the city’s scene, all culminating in the creation of the DJ Traytex alias as a solo artist. A passion for hip-hop intermingles, reflecting in the broad atmospheres and soulful rhythms in his music.

Something fast and fun, and something for the pain that we feel; something of serendipity, and then something for all of the normal moments, sitting in-between. Another door in techno opens.
