When piloting a starship, it’s important to have a fitting soundtrack. Listening to the drone of the warp engines is comforting, but sometimes sleep-inducing. Sometimes you need a beat to keep you on task.

Berlin-based Dinamite is a different kind of pilot, steering the deep grooves known throughout the galaxy as Earth’s musical speciality: techno. On this, the “Excelsior EP”, she composed four excellent tunes ready to be played over your starship’s intercom system or just in your personal quarters with a few fellow crewmembers and some iced raktajino.   Starting with an ode to the Federation’s flagship “Enterprise”, Dinamite gives proper reverence with an electro-flavored bump and bleep, then moves into a darker, broken expanse of beats and atmosphere befitting the transwarp prototype with “Excelsior”.   “Odyssey” is an altogether darker affair, with a metallic stomp and cavernous depths befitting a Klingon war party. Turn it up, add blood wine, and mind the sharp objects, lest you end up in sickbay. Finally, with “Sovereign”, we have a slower, more melodic downbeat number, the kind of piece that makes staring at a warp core a potentially religious experience.   In its entirety, it’s not a jolt to the system on the level of Romulan ale or a Klingon opera, but it will keep your mind and body occupied at Warp 3. Just remember not to dance at your station, as most starship captains frown on this behavior.

At the border between tradition and pulsating desire for change, it was impossible to describe the Georgian Sonic soundscapes without finding its roots in the old winemaking tradition. There is no meal or reference without wine, just like there would not be this rising culture of artists without their thoughts for change, filled with the desire to bring a game-changing wind of change to the front of the scene, being musical or political.

devi finally reveals himself completely, the face of the wind of change which continues to blow over the red vines of Georgia.

In only over three years of existence, the French label has offered a vigorous artistic and technophile approach, with 9 digital releases. SLLAV describes himself as a serious music enthusiast with an affiliation towards the more dynamic side of electronic music. Heavily influenced by classic rock, hip hop and the electronic sound from the early to mid-2000s, his approach is a combination of galloping bottom-end and thundering percussion backed up by necessary melodic moments. A key element is progression and variety in repetition, with a complete focus on the dance floor.

Last year has seen his debut on Khazad Records, while 2021 began with a track on Laburnum Records and a plan to self-release every two months. He is focusing on enhancing his production skills to deliver the sound he envisages.
