Up next on Digital Society Recordings is Finnish producer Tommy Baynen with the massive 'An Ocean Without Water' EP.

'An Ocean Without Water' takes on a neat progressive sound and is packed with pure emotion. Tommy Baynen uses soft piano in the breakdown together with 'ocean' like waves of ambient pads to create a brilliant summer feel to this epic track. 

Similarly 'Whole Gale' is influenced by summer sounds but is more dance floor orientated, focusing on deep bass elements and chunky melodic stabs that constantly keep you guessing.  

An altogether superb release from the young talent. Support from Armin van Buuren!

Tommi Lahtinen aka Tommy Baynen is an electronic music producer from Finland. He was interested in music at the early age and started to take classical guitar lessons at the age of 8.  At the end of 90s he fell in love with trance music when he heard acts like ATB, System F, Chicane and BT. He signed his first official EP to Finity Recordings in 2009. His track “Blue Morning” was picked up by Above & Beyond and was played in their weekly podcast. They included it in their Beatport top 10 chart also.

In 2013 after several of successful trance productions like “An Ocean Without Water” and support from top jocks like Armin van Buuren, Dash Berlin and Paul van Dyk he decided to change his sound. His track “TomB Raider” was instantly picked up by Tritonal and they included it in their "Tritonia - Chapter 001" compilation. He also started to produce video game music to expand his sound more. 

After a couple of years of silence and contemplation on the dance music scene, he made his comeback in 2019 with the track "Effervescence" which was released on "Colorize pres.  Colorscapes Volume One mixed by Matt Fax & Dezza". Today, his style has become more relaxed, and he has established himself in the playlists of top DJs such as Lane 8, PRAANA and Sultan + Shepard to name a few. One of his most successful songs "Laminar Flow" has already crossed the 2 million stream mark on Spotify and Sirius XM Chill has also drawn attention to his songs, of which "Bird Song" quickly exceeded hundreds of plays.

His brother's game, Sektori, for which he composed 18 fast-paced techno-style tracks, is his biggest game music work to date. It will be published at the end of 2024.
