The extensive and vivid musical palette of Blood Groove & Kikis is fully revealed on "Wonderland", their thrilling debut artist album. Over the last few years, the acclaimed Latvian duo have received global recognition for their work — ranging from peak-hour progressive trance to deep house — from the industry's leading producers and DJ's. You can now typically hear their latest tracks on the world's leading radio programs. In spite of this success, they continue to write visionary tracks, refusing to compromise their intelligent, deeply emotive, and exceedingly "musical" brand of electronica.

The listener needs to look no further than the album's opener, "Communication", to appreciate the broad range of sounds and genres that Blood Groove & Kikis continue to infuse into their work. The downtempo, world-music-inspired "Communication" intensely crescendoes, but never fully resolves, as if to fairly suggest that the "catharsis" is still to come. The second track in the album, "Velvet", is an homage to the "classic" melodic progressive house sound, for which Silk is most known. Blood Groove & Kikis offer their own stamp on this style, with additional lead layers and numerous side melodies. The lead chords of "Sweet Harmony" and "Chordplay" are rapturous; these cuts are followed by one of the album's standout tracks, "Sunlight", which perhaps best exemplifies the uplifting spirit of Blood Groove & Kikis's work.

The album pivots slightly on "Raindrops", which showcases the duo's deeper side, on which they have also built an international reputation. A sexy, late-night groove and funky guitar riff make this cut especially memorable. The title cut, "Wonderland", is presented next, featuring an almost overwhelmingly soulful and moving vocal by Richard J Aarden. The album's first single, "Free Like A Bird", is next in line, featuring first-time Silk contributor Victoria Ray; her heavenly voice perfectly suits the floating-on-air quality of Blood Groove & Kikis's instrumental.

The final quarter of the album features more exciting collaborations. Indonesian phenom LTN joins forces with Blood Groove & Kikis on "Both", which is also the subject of our most recent remix contest. Another renowned artist, Matt Fax, provides support on "Departure", the album's penultimate track. Both of these collaborations showcase the duo's more trance-influenced side and feature powerful lead themes, coupled with dancefloor-friendly grooves. Last but not least, Richard J Aarden makes his second vocal contribution on the ebullient "Afloat". The title alone is perhaps the most accurate one-word description of the listener's mood throughout the "Wonderland" journey. The album, as a whole, is a remarkable artistic achievement by Blood Groove & Kikis, master manipulators of mood and melody.

Retaining the vast amount of emotion contained in the vocal of singer Underdown, these two productions maestros have added a new wave of melody-driven energy that provides an extra dimension and makes it perfect for hoards of partygoers to go wild to. It’s no wonder that when Tritonal dropped this at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, it absolutely exploded and had crowds on BOTH weekends of the event giving it their all on the dance floor!

Also offering up their own unique and exquisite twists on ‘Bullet That Saved Me’ are up-and-comers Sebjak, Ken Loi and Bluestone. Swedish Sebjak brings a harder and darker style than the original, with pounding bass and piercing synths conveying that same energy contained in the first cut. In the package’s third remix, US based producer Ken Loi shows off his electro sensibilities as a saw-toothed wave of crunching sound drops in following the melodic build up, before finally Ilan Bluestone wraps things up by taking the more progressive leanings from the single and adding a top end of chopped synths to create a fast-flowing new take.

With this release and the forthcoming second part of the METAMORPHIC EP series, in addition to touring their native US, there’s a huge amount in the pipeline coming from Tritonal so make sure you don’t miss out on a thing!

Intricate Records, founded in early 2012 by Alexey Sonar, PROFF, Sergey Tkachev and Vadim Soloviev, to date has formed a label team and a loyal community of listeners and clubbers – fans of progressive and melodic house. Very recently the launch of the sublabel Intricate Cuts was announced, it is going to become an outpost for deep and tech house releases of Intricate Records’ residents and new names. Nowadays Intricate Records is one of the key players on the field of progressive and melodic house, it is active both on the native territory of Russia and former Soviet countries, another important mission of Intricate Records is the export of Russian sound to the countries of the world.
 
Consistently inviting both well-known producers and newcomers from all geographic locations to sign their music to Intricate Records, the label has accumulated a catalog of 29 releases during the first year of activity. You can find tracks by Intricate artists in the DJ crates and cases almost everywhere. Since the launch in 2012, the label has formed a specific concept and musical policy which distinguish Intricate from partners and competitors. Right before the summer 2013 begins, Intricate Records is ready to proudly announce the label’s long-awaited debut compilation «Intricate Sessions Vol. 01 Mixed by PROFF & Vadim Soloviev» which seamlessly unites the art of mixing and exceptional musical taste of the authors plus unique audio content – many exclusive productions were intentionally written and submitted for this project and have never been published before. «Vladimir PROFF and me have already compiled mix CDs for various projects in the past, but those were explicitly limited by the labels’ catalogs or some other circumstances. This time the situation is completely different, – Vadim Soloviev reveals some of the details. – While working on the first volume of Intricate Sessions and being in the preparative phase, we felt like gleaning for the smallest bricks for the compilation framework, including a number of unsigned and unreleased productions. As a consequence, my mix totally corresponds with my current vision of modern electronic dance music, my personal taste and preferences, and globally with the musical philosophy of Intricate Records. This means, first of all, progressive sound in it’s classical form, both melodic and dancefloor-friendly, but not big-room arena style. Besides that, I added some deep house and progressive trance, plus even some proper, high-quality  electro house. Each track here deserves special attention, many works have been recorded exclusively for this compilation and I would like to highlight that some of the artists have shown their totally different creative sides, that is surprisingly amazing».
