Its broken walls and gaping windows
Should not invite the wary
For in the attic, to sky exposed
Is something very scary

There is a box, its lid ajar
Its contents peeking through
With beady eyes and grinning teeth
There’s really quite a crew

There’s Laughing Pete and Little Joey,
The Cuddle Sisters too
It’s just as well there are no stairs
Else they might come for you.

These are toys you shouldn’t have
They’re much too cruel to play
But you can get to know them
In a poetic kind of way
