Lovely setting.  It does draw you in.  The timbre of the Vaults Celeste-A-Tone permeates through sounds with a presence, and it worked well here.,

This sound track was composed in response to the latest Composer challenge from the Crow Hill Company. The task was to use their Vaults Beta instrument, "Celeste-a-tone", to create a track that reflected a particular mood which would be randomly chosen for each entrant. In my case the mood allocated was "Mysterious".

So, my inspiration for this track was the marks that humans have made over the centuries and millennia - from scratches to paintings to finely-chiseled stone works. In many cases these works are so old that we can only guess at the meanings behind these or the reasons for their creation. Therein lies the mystery.....

The bell-like sound in this track is actually a chisel used by my son, who is a stone-mason. Other than that, all sounds were created using Crow Hill Company instruments:
~Vaults Beta - Celeste-a-tone
~String Murmurations
~Upright Piano.

Drums: NI 40.
Bass: Warwick 5-string Corvette through NI Guitar Rig.
Guitars: Strandberg Salen Jazz through an instance of NI Guitar Rig with some additional VST's from Arturia and others. First solo is a kinda loose fingerstyle / hybrid picked thing. For the geeks, guitar in second half is all finger tapped (single and double) outlining chords and scales.
Keys: various NI, Arturia and Spitfire.
Mastering: Ozone 10 Standard.
DAW: Ableton 12.
