Only just heard this. Brilliance on every level.

Can't believe I haven't seen this before.  It has been mad, wedding wise, and I've had a number of job interviews as well inbetween (none successful, yet).  My son is best man, by the way, and he would prefer to be an eagle, not a snipe.  Just so you know.

THE FOX AND THE CURLEW GET WED

The Fox and the Curlew
Decided to wed.
She wore fine feathers
And he dressed in red.
Their union was blessed 
by a pious Gnu.
When he said “Now will you…?”
They both said “I do.”

“Now who gives the hand
Of this Curlew to wed?”
“I do” the Giraffe
With pleasure he said.
The Service was held 
In an old caravan.
With Larks for their bridesmaids
And a Snipe for best man.

And when the service was done
And they’d both took their vows,
They feasted on biscuits
And cheese from the cows
And they toasted their marriage
By the light of the moon
Then danced all the night
To Squinancywort tunes.

Now some folk may think
That it’s rather absurd
For a fox to be wed
To a small gentle bird,
But love conquers all,
And their love was true
And that is the story
Of the Fox and Curlew.
