For young Berlin artist INDOME, seeking the stage spotlight whilst fostering a loving community around her is a transformative practice to emancipate from trauma and grief. What might seem contradictory – striving for independence against being emotionally available to her peers – goes hand in hand for INDOME.

Her debut album “Permission To Feel” is the emotionally striking testament of a talented, warm hearted girl with Southeast Asian roots, who grows up to be a woman in the south of Germany and Berlin. In the midst of the turmoil that is coming of age she had to deal with losing her Indonesian father. To process the loss and deal with new questions about identity, she eventually found solace in writing about it. Her album “permission to feel” explores the power of vulnerability: “I wanted to create a space where all emotions are allowed to be felt—whether positive or negative.”

Tracks like “Shame Ya” and “Permission To Feel” deal with shame, emotional repression, and the struggle for self-acceptance. “Island Girl” pays tribute to her Indonesian roots and her father with original field recordings from Bali, while “I’ll Be Alright” offers a light-hearted celebration of friendship and resilience.

Written and mostly produced by INDOME herself, the 10-track album blends intimate R&B vocals with contemporary electronic sound spheres, like Drum’n’Bass and Jungle. While taking the creative lead, INDOME collaborated with a talented cast of friends, many of them creatives from her hometown Freiburg who moved to Berlin alongside her. She wrote “I Choose You” together with her band collective kitch. Band member and experimental jazz artist Calida Ray plays piano on multiple songs. The band’s drummer, Leevi Lamadé alias LOUSELV, co-produced “Blurred Out Path” alongside JOHN PLAYER, another of her hometown affiliates. Just like Euro Chan who mixed the album with INDOME and produced three songs with his Berlin buddy Hazy030.

As part of a young, vibrant creative community in Berlin, INDOME created a visual campaign created in close collaboration with young creative duo Laís Yukie de Souza Takano and Joe Huth alias MEANT2B\ONFILM. The visuals tackle themes like addiction, eating disorders, queer expression, and self-empowerment—amplifying INDOME’s mission to create space for emotional truth and human connection.
