Alex Niggemann’s forward thinking label Aeon recently celebrated five years at the forefront of cutting edge music.
To k​ick off 2019, Kincaid makes his debut on the label: the EP is the first in a string of exceptional music to come this year.

The four track EP kicks off in style with ​On The Back Of A Serpent​. An Italo-tinged number with Kincaid's trademark live sounding drum programming. It’s an instant club rocker with trippy vocal snippets that draw the listener into an ethereal, spine tingling breakdown. ​Stare Into My Monstera begins with a driving groove and dissonant Rhodes, building subtly but relentlessly towards a euphoric Nord lead motif which reappears throughout. A track that will undoubtedly find favour with the discerning Burner crowd. ​Papoose starts with middle eastern influenced sounds and insistent Timpani accents, before locking into a groove which hypnotises and intrigues in equal measure. Finally ​It Said (feat. Sinàl) is a darker affair featuring the sinister vocals of both Kincaid and Sinàl themselves. A ‘lights off / strobe on’ growler, this is one for fans of late night trippy moments - and further displays the diverse number of styles which Kincaid is becoming well known for.

Kincaid may be a fresh face to many but those in the know will be familiar with his unique brand of diverse and genre bending sounds. Breaking through in 2018, notable highlights include a debut release on Moscoman’s Disco Halal and an EP on Sabo’s Sol Selectas plus a plethora of support from titans of the scene; Rampa and &Me, Jennifer Cardini, The Juan MacLean, Roman Flügel, all the way to Dixon and Âme, who opened their Innervisions show at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall with his remix of Blancmange’s ​What’s The Time​.

Music can describe a picture. A Picture can lead to a melody. Remembering experiences from the past can lead you into personal meditation or to the dance floor. Jonas Saalbach is back with his 3rd long-player “Reminiscence“ which will be out end of February. The young super producer from Berlin created an album which can be listened in a raw without loosing the typical atmosphere of the club. With techy vibes on the one hand and experimental slowed down pieces on the other these songs can be found in a lot of DJ sets all around the globe this year for sure. With a big album tour and some unique live shows the long player will be celebrated.

Exclusive Coeus 'Forgotten Love'

Carefully saved within biological circuits that are activated by networks of nerve cells humans gain access to their memory, and therewith to their past, to their knowledge, to colored images of close people, to their lives. Serbian producer Coeus actived his memory of a 'Forgotten Love' for the first release of shortly founded Parisian label Mimesis. The three tracker, consisting of the EP's name giving track 'Forgotten Love', 'Atlantis' and 'Gravity', depicts hidden feelings in space at a musical level. 'Forgotten Love' overwhelms its listeners with a dark fundamental tone that's not taking the track's lead but is certainly responsible for the undertone. The latter is worked out by the synth-chords that deliver a memorable melody that can easily be recalled as its saved within short time in the back of our heads, in our memory, so it is not forgotten but present.

Coeus' EP 'Forgotten Love' will be released February 19th, 2019 on Mimesis.

microCastle begins 2019 by welcoming Petros Manganaris aka Echonomist to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Thessaloníki, the Greek artist has been a fixture of the electronic underground for over two decades. Long a favourite of the world's largest DJs, Petros' timeless style often finds him sitting in a creative space between house and techno. As one of Greece's most highly regarded DJs, Petros has performed with a wide variety of the world's leading acts, most notably Ame, Black Coffee, Carl Craig, Damian Lazarus, Dixon, Juan Atkins and Tale Of Us. Recent releases on Aeon, Connaisseur Recordings, Multinotes, Rebirth and Upon You highlight his discography, while a bevy of forthcoming projects point to what should be an amazing year for the Greek artist. Now making his much anticipated microCastle debut, Echonomist presents his 'Strymonas' artist showcase.

Comprised of four tracks, the ‘Stymonas’ collection is a blend of astral storyboards and raw analog electronics. Beginning with the commanding beats and elastic funk of ‘Grace’ before segueing perfectly into the spastic sirens and cosmic arpeggios of ‘November Clouds’, it’s Petros’ technical excellence and boundless creativity which shine through here.

Already a favourite of Frankey & Sandrino and Rampa, it’s ‘Doudouka’ which anchors the collection’s halfway mark. A hypnotic piece melded by afro sensibilities and a deep meditative pulse. Rounding out the release is the dramatic title selection ‘Strymonas’. Surrounded by much hype after being played by Ame last year; it’s buzzing low end, bleepy theme and waves of euphoric tension have been etched in the hearts of dance floors around the world.

With the 'Strymonas' showcase, Echonomist makes an impressive microCastle debut, further demonstrating his uncanny knack for crafting avant garde electronica; complete with inspired storyboards and imaginative sound design that entices the listener to get lost in the music.

Petros Manganaris better known under his artist moniker Echonomist has been a constant in the electronic music for quite some years. With releases on Upon.You, Multinotes or Rebirth the Thessaloniki based artist set the bar high for following releases and does not disappoint his audience with his most recent work 'Strymonas', which is named after the Greek region and river close to Petros hometown. Just like previous releases from the Echonomist 'Strymonas' again is accompanied by a hype ever since Àme played the track last year – for a good reason. 'Strymonas' is dark, it's edgy, it's simply outstanding in its thoughful arrangement as Petros finds a way to combine creaking synth-chords and on the contrary bright and bleepy soundscapes that create a well-balanced harmonic track that has a colorful tone in an overall dark musical construct. 

Echonomist's EP 'Strymonas' will be released on microCastle February 22nd, 2019.

Exclusive Nandu 'When The Tides Shift (Stefano Ritteri Remix)'

Back in 2017 Copenhagen based artist Nandu launched his label Calypso Chili and released his album 'Tales From My Living Room'. Every since the launch Nandu himself has had a busy schedule with several releases and remixes on labels such as Connected, AZZUR, MoBlack or SOLIDE and could not find the time to further the label. But with spring around the corner Calypso Chili will blossom again and pick up where it left off, namely with a remix EP of 'Tales From My Living Room'. Therefore Nandu invited his musical affiliates Melokolektiv and Stefano Ritteri to remix 'Something Simple' respectively 'When the Tides Shift' and contributes a remix himself of his track 'Only Human Casualities'. Ritteri, having quite an impressive history when it comes to electronic, takes on – as aforementioned – 'When the Tides Shift'. Keeping the hypnotic core of the track Ritteri breaks in the original's vocal and adjusts it to the remix' general mental vibe. Instrumental and vocal passages alternate within the track and create a comfortable tension that peaks in the break to then continue the mental joyride throughout the end.

Nandu's EP 'Tales From My Living Room Remixed' will be releason on Calypso Chili February 27th, 2019.

Following 2018’s ‘Nothing Around Us’ single, Mathame show no sign of slowing down. Their Afterlife Recordings follow up is a dancefloor single of epic proportions, taking the duo further into a realm of their own. Tension hangs off the sliding chords and spacious arrangements. In the case of ‘Skywalking’ it reaches an uplifting, euphoric crescendo, in Tale Of Us’ intro edit of ‘Departure’ the theme goes darker and off-kilter.
