Coming on strong for this summer's season is Upon.You Records creative A&R mastermind Marco Resmann with a new and heavy duty four track single named Voyager that presents nothing but musical goodness to DJs and dancefloors worldwide.Being a world travelling voyager indeed the start start of this journey sees Marco Resmann searching for The Lost Drum, entering deep and fever'ish tech territories, following a path of spine-tingling jungle drums and finally reach an enticing climax primed through intense and expertly morphed futuristic synths and rolling glitches. This one's causing massive mayhem for a reason!With Glide the dark side of Techno is taking over, pleasing pumping peaktime crowds with heavyweight bassdrums, a rolling sawtooth synth line and eerie stabs moving through the stereo field whilst distinct claps provide an additional punch to this ever morphing weapon of mass mobilization. Entering the code to the Drifter Marco Resmann unlocks a more uplifting Tech banger with slightly dubbed out qualities. Imagine staggered layers of pads, a field recorded atmosphere and big organic basslines falling together in the right place, creating a mesmerizing stream of sonic events that takes you right into the sunset and back within a little more than 5 minutes playtime.Finally Viaticum provides more of a scientific, spaced out approach to late night electronic music with its highly defined mid-range drums, buzzing sound sparkles and beautifully crafted out-of-this-world string sequence as a perfect backdrop for the tunes crystalline main motif. Alex Niggemann’s forward thinking label Aeon recently celebrated five years at the forefront of cutting edge music.
To k​ick off 2019, Kincaid makes his debut on the label: the EP is the first in a string of exceptional music to come this year.

The four track EP kicks off in style with ​On The Back Of A Serpent​. An Italo-tinged number with Kincaid's trademark live sounding drum programming. It’s an instant club rocker with trippy vocal snippets that draw the listener into an ethereal, spine tingling breakdown. ​Stare Into My Monstera begins with a driving groove and dissonant Rhodes, building subtly but relentlessly towards a euphoric Nord lead motif which reappears throughout. A track that will undoubtedly find favour with the discerning Burner crowd. ​Papoose starts with middle eastern influenced sounds and insistent Timpani accents, before locking into a groove which hypnotises and intrigues in equal measure. Finally ​It Said (feat. Sinàl) is a darker affair featuring the sinister vocals of both Kincaid and Sinàl themselves. A ‘lights off / strobe on’ growler, this is one for fans of late night trippy moments - and further displays the diverse number of styles which Kincaid is becoming well known for.

Kincaid may be a fresh face to many but those in the know will be familiar with his unique brand of diverse and genre bending sounds. Breaking through in 2018, notable highlights include a debut release on Moscoman’s Disco Halal and an EP on Sabo’s Sol Selectas plus a plethora of support from titans of the scene; Rampa and &Me, Jennifer Cardini, The Juan MacLean, Roman Flügel, all the way to Dixon and Âme, who opened their Innervisions show at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall with his remix of Blancmange’s ​What’s The Time​.

Exclusive Coeus 'Forgotten Love'

Carefully saved within biological circuits that are activated by networks of nerve cells humans gain access to their memory, and therewith to their past, to their knowledge, to colored images of close people, to their lives. Serbian producer Coeus actived his memory of a 'Forgotten Love' for the first release of shortly founded Parisian label Mimesis. The three tracker, consisting of the EP's name giving track 'Forgotten Love', 'Atlantis' and 'Gravity', depicts hidden feelings in space at a musical level. 'Forgotten Love' overwhelms its listeners with a dark fundamental tone that's not taking the track's lead but is certainly responsible for the undertone. The latter is worked out by the synth-chords that deliver a memorable melody that can easily be recalled as its saved within short time in the back of our heads, in our memory, so it is not forgotten but present.

Coeus' EP 'Forgotten Love' will be released February 19th, 2019 on Mimesis.

Petros Manganaris better known under his artist moniker Echonomist has been a constant in the electronic music for quite some years. With releases on Upon.You, Multinotes or Rebirth the Thessaloniki based artist set the bar high for following releases and does not disappoint his audience with his most recent work 'Strymonas', which is named after the Greek region and river close to Petros hometown. Just like previous releases from the Echonomist 'Strymonas' again is accompanied by a hype ever since Àme played the track last year – for a good reason. 'Strymonas' is dark, it's edgy, it's simply outstanding in its thoughful arrangement as Petros finds a way to combine creaking synth-chords and on the contrary bright and bleepy soundscapes that create a well-balanced harmonic track that has a colorful tone in an overall dark musical construct.

Torture the Artist - your source for contemporary electronic music

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.

Ensemble:Frequencies is a constant journey of discovering new, contemporary, electronic frequencies.
