No doubt I love Lily Allen's music, so it's been a while I was looking for something from her stuff to remix into a dynamic, driving synthwave track. "Higher" from her latest album to date "No Shame" proved to be perfect challenge, being a slow, melancholic song with an overall sad tone. And I love challenges. So I decided to put the song into a much more uplifting, bright context, and I must say I think it worked. Buckle up, pedal to the metal, and cruise onto the 80s music highway with Lily!

I Need U

This is my "In Space" album, which came from an idea back in 2018. I had just made Alpha Polaris, a song I just intended for background music for The 8-Bit Guy and his videos. After releasing it, it became popular with a lot of fans, so I soon made another one, Alpha Centauri B. This song was used by The Brick Channel and then got a lot of plays from his videos.

I got the idea of making an album with only slow, spaced out songs and put them on vinyl and cassettes. Some four years later, I finally got my crap together and finalised enough songs to actually fill this album, so here you are. 11 songs in more or less the same vibe, however some turned out to be a little more upbeat than the first ones, but hopefully this is  a good thing. Vinyl and MC is coming later this year.

I've always been intrigued by how divisible 6/8 time is, and how many distinct grooves you can make. I also felt it was time to really flex my sound design muscles with Harmor, which makes every sound in the track except the drums and the organ. So I made this track, more as a musical sketchpad than anything else.

By the time I'd reached the Irish folk part, I realized there was little point in restraining the style of the track. Instead, I drew inspiration from Frank Zappa, who seemed to approach his music in a very free-flowing way, keeping the listener guessing as to what would come next. In a way, the last slow-shuffle part is a homage to him, who arguably had the largest impact on my musical life.
