Track I made on stream fucking around with the instrument function on Renoise to make the hoover/mentasm'esq synth. Big thank you to Synkretic for bringing that to my attention. I've never really used it, but now i understand the full power of Renoise.

Anyway, i was thinking, if any of you guys want to remix this chune, here are the stems. So this is pretty much a call for a open collab. You can find the stems here;

2013 has been a huge year for English alternative band, "Scanners." This June marked the release of their long awaited third album, "Love is Symmetry" on Dim Mak Records. To follow up, 5 songs on the album have been chosen for 8 remixers to give their interpretation on Scanners. First off the Ep is Fei-Fei's remix of the title track. She takes the song's energy up a few notches with her invigorating, bass-heavy style. Next, Carpenter Brut's electro spin does something similar on "Control" by including a heavy rock influence. T.W.I.N.S then takes "Mexico" and adds an indie dance vibe, resulting in a fun, playful beat.  Then, "State of Wonder" gets a "hard bass" remix by Zeskulls. The intro keeps the good-feel vibes of the original tune, but then takes a quick turn as Zeskull's signature wobbles takes the driving wheel. The 5th remix on the EP is another remix of "Control" by Boots N' Pants. As you listen to this remix, let your mind and body get carried away with this relaxing, deep house groove. The energy picks up again with the second remix of "State of Wonder," a pumping electro-house track tailored by Kevin Focus. Following next is a creative, beat-intensive, drum n' bass remix by Aeronautica. Their expert sound design adds a unique touch to this remix of "Mexico." Finally, the Remix Ep ends on a great note with Hiroshima Twinky's take on "Control.," a beautiful piece that is easy to fall in love with. 

Scanners - Control (Carpenter Brut Remix)

Envisioned as the soundtrack to an Ecotopian future, ‘Solarpunk’ takes cues from New Age, J-Ambient, Classical Minimalism, Kosmische Musik and IDM, offering a vast assortment of shimmering pads, generative melodics, polymetric sequences, serene atmospheres and meditative bells.

Night Stalker (From "The Rise of the Synths")

In the centre of the massive return of the electronic music scene to proper events, after almost two years of forced shutdown, the new work by David Meiser on the Valencian label HC Records sees the light.

“Who Wants The Night reflects the held back rage of an audience that has been forced to dance in his living room for too long. It is a hymn to make the night ours again”.

The sound of the EP has clear influences from EBM bands, such as Nitzer EBB or Front 242, but it also adds elements of the new punk movement that we had previously seen in bands like The Prodigy. All under the characteristic Meiser sound based on interlaced arpeggios, sharp cymbals and a careful editing of the voices that the artist sings himself. The EP has an original track and 3 remixes by HC Records producers (Siarem, Filmmaker, Abiz Sonko) who make a good balance by taking the original track, more oriented to the club dancefloor, to other more purist and experimental sound dynamics, respectively.

The video clip, which was recorded in the old Aliaga thermal power plant, reflects on the influences of industrial music and EBM both on the album and throughout Meiser's career. It has been directed by Carlos Amorés (APV Films) and has the support of Marga VM.

“I had already worked with Amorés on other occasions. We understand each other very well when it comes to moving even the smallest detail from the sound to the black and white image. He is my right hand. Marga has brought the rave aesthetic that we wanted to convey. The message was clear: ‘dance as if no one was looking at you, the night is yours again’”.

By now you must be already familiar with Qual being the solo project of William Maybelline, one half of the Lebanon Hanover duo. 
When William first stepped into the scene as an individual artist back in 2014, he declared the intention to explore the very grimmest areas in synth-based music. 
While Sable debut LP was unapologetically gothic in subject matter and sound, Qual’s most recent and uncompromising outputs of Cupio Dissolvi EP and last year’s album The Ultimate Climax merge the despairingly freezing properties of 90s EBM with the more aggressive sensibilities of industrial techno without ever diluting the intensity of either. 
Brand new 4-track EP Cyber Care is the perfect synthesis of both these aspects. On A side the slither of the title-track and the mechanical assault of Inject Your Mind will make you feel the hardest, most vicious side of Maybelline’s creation. B side’s I Have To Return Some Video Tapes and Motherblood will toss you into a ice-cold galaxy of paranoia and disorientation. 
This is not an appealing world, as Qual is impossible to listen to half-heartedly - it will drag you by the jaw and butcher you in a dirty alleyway.

The sixth vinyl release from Soil Records vindicates this project's great commitment to a retrospective style in which the bass lines are clearly dominant over the rest of the sound elements.

The French artists Imperial Black Unit open the A side with a psychedelic adaptation of EBM in which the arpeggio is transferred to all the harmonic patterns, from the bass frequencies to the acid melody. The second cut on this side is by the Czech couple Fractions. Intensity is a piece with more than half of its development with a syncopated bass drum and a break and a bass line more typical of the electro, although the track still has a great connection with the nature of the label because of its industrial sound.  LVRIN closes the A side with Return, opaque acid techno with a lot of details, from its degraded rhythm to twisted timbres.


Cash On the Dresser is the first cut of the B side, this time it's the Czech Exhausted Modern who with a slower cadence and an arpeggiated bass loop creates a sound framework that denotes serenity, but at the same time also shows an overwhelming energy. Ekman signs the second and final cut on this side with 48, an electro track with which the Dutch producer demonstrates that with few elements and well used he can create a consistent track, in this case using only the rhythmic part, bass line, a pad and a final melodic component.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Imperial Black Unit. “Your Kind Is Extinct” comes off the new v/a compilation Valley of Tears Vol. 1, a new 12” only on Spain’s SOIL Records. The track is a mutant strain of EBM complete with acid melodies and industrial moods. This is the perfect way to start the release which also features a standout cast of projects which includes Fractions, Lvrin and Exhausted Modern. SOIL has been on a tear as of late and this is another excellent addition to the label’s discography.

SOJ always works within an industrial sound context, but his works can be based only on small details that finally lead us back to this countercultural environment, elements of this genre, which later feed on other external nuances.

Infidel Bodies is the record label that publishes this new reference from the head of Soil Records. Its 10 original tracks combine different rhythmic structures with harmonic textures, each of them has a different charisma than the rest, with influences from styles such as dark ambient, techno or experimental electronics, and with quite different composition patterns. Ever the aural adventurer, Carmen Villain has long traversed a boundless array of sounds, deftly moving from art nouveau pop to fog-laden avant-dub. Yet at every artistic turn, the Norwegian-Mexican’s chameleon-like charm seldom loses its alluring, organic beauty. Fresh off her contribution to 2020’s A Little Night Music… compilation, Carmen joins Geographic North’s Sketch for Winter series for its 9th installment. Perlita, named after Carmen’s grandmother living in Puebla, Mexico, is a sweetly somber reflection on the ever-present cycle of and hibernation and reemergence.

The A side begins with “Everything Without a Shadow”, a wide-angled and windswept vista of expansive permafrost and still-glowing embers of a recently extinguished fire. A sign of life in an otherwise desolate place. “Two Halves Touching” continues to drift through the frigid scene, lightly pulsing underneath a muted but vibrant tundra until coming upon echoes of voices chanted into the snowdrift. “Light in Phases” follows the cue with hurried hesitance, uncovering a sonic slush of radiant zither, blurred voices, and calm resolution.

“Things That Are Solid” begins to thaw the B side, strolling through newly uncovered verdancy, welcoming murmurs peeking out of the snow. With “Molina”, any last remnants of Winter have disappeared, leaving only a solemn suite of piano motifs breaking ground like seedlings bursting to life. With help from Johanna Scheie Orellana on flute and alt-flute, the album’s closer “Aqua Azul'' floats along with unencumbered motion like a happy stone skating across a tranquil pond.
