Envotion - Hammer And Tongs (club mix)

Intricate Records welcomed the Austrian musician Blend with his debut release on the label in December 2012. It consisted of three tracks with different mood but consolidated with a mainline idea: «Illusion», «Vanish» and «People Talk About The Weather». A little over six months passed since that moment. During this time Thomas reached full age, notably in all senses: his tracks have been heard over 100 000 times on Soundcloud, finally he launched a personal video channel on Youtube and even had some time for sound experiments with neurofunk. Besides that, in April 2013 Blend’s original work «Nocturnal Labor» became a part of PROFF’s sampler coincided with the release of the label’s debut compilation «Intricate Sessions Vol. 01 Mixed by PROFF & Vadim Soloviev». Today, Austria’s full citizen presents his second extended play on the Russian label, Intricate Records, which has literary become his second home. 

The headlining, A-side track entitled «Taking Flight» is produced in Thomas’s classic «two-faced» style. In one respect, it is full of moments when you wish to pat with your foot in time with the beat, on the other hand, it is a pleasure to listen attentively to the measured tranquility of the breakdown and the beauty of the melody. The track shoots up and fluently zooms down, like an airplane gaining height, sailplaning and approaching to land. The B-side track on this release is called «Friendship Is Science» and, compared to the main one, it has a significantly more monotonous beat, deep bass line and bright, underlined peak moment.

In late August 2013 Intricate Cuts will be presenting the newest addition to their catalog, «Bad Bee» by August Rush. The single will include the original version of the track and a remix by Deep Lark.

«Listen. Can you hear it? The music. I can hear it everywhere. In the wind... in the air... in the light. It's all around us. All you have to do is open yourself up. All you have to do... is listen», — the lead character of «August Rush» film was telling us. At the heart of the plot there is a touching story of musician and how music is uniting people. Probably, this was the reason why Arkhangelsk-based producers Alexander Shelchkov and Alexey Maltsev decided to name their duo “August Rush”. Their creative works are always full of freshness, lightness and easiness, as well as sincere emotions, just the like original movie. It seems like the guys decided to follow those testaments in full, in every aspect. Newest releases by August Rush are seen on various labels on a regular basis, their tracks and remixes catch the attention of A-league club players including Max Graham and Eximinds, some of their works have already climbed up into Beatport’s Top-100 in «Progressive» and «Nu-Disco» categories. Alexander and Alexey run their own «August All The Time Show» on Pure.FM Radio and currently are on a friendly footing with Answer42 – a collaboration track is hopefully soon to be announced and presented to the fans. One year ago the guys made their debut on Intricate Records with two original productions, «Here & Now» and «This Is The August Rush», and in June 2013 their latest track «Galaxy Cats» was featured on the label’s debut compilation, «Intricate Sessions». The next step for the duo from Arkhangelsk is join the Intricate Cuts sublabel musical family with the deep house single «Bad Bee», which has a special remix from the yet unknown mysterious producer Deep Lark alongside the original version.

Besides that, quite a long time ago the Ukrainian producer did a remix of "Two Worlds" by Sergey Tkachev and also managed to get featured in the Christmas 2014 sampler of the Russian progressive label. This frenzied activity of course became noticed by the label audience and team, as a result a full-featured single by the artist will see the light of day on Intricate Cuts. The original production, "Stargaze", is a slow-motion dreamy audio-mantra which sends the listener to the far edges of the galaxy into an impressively long journey. The happy people were so glad to hear this track - they made a special fan-video consisting of sci-fi movies, automotive footage and magnificent images of the night sky shot using the timelapse technology. The remixes by the Dutch trio Envotion and Russian musician Cosmonaut are a slightly different story which is about more dancefloor-friendly sound and adjusted higher tempo. Every participant involved put a special touch on "Stargaze" through the prism of the own sound: Envotion have built a soft progressive track while Cosmonaut combined the main theme with a livelier techno beat.

The first real deal acquaintance of Envotion with the Russian club audience happened in very early 2014. The Dutchmen celebrated their 10 years anniversary of united creative activity with a tour through Russian cities and later they even created a national fan-community entitled «Russia is envoted». The very first step on the Russian electronic scene was made with their remixes of «All Again» by Alexey Sonar and «Stargaze» by Sunn Jellie. Finally, today Envotion proudly present their first full-featured single on Intricate Records – it is called «Still Here». The trio from Maastricht depicted their current ultra-sensible electronic sound at one hundred percent in this newest work. The headline track is piece of bright melodic progressive with a very soulful, heartfelt male vocal part – there is no doubt that the radio edit will enter multiple FM-charts right after. Two solid additions to the original version are a beatless interpretation which offers a special possibility to hear the entire strength of the voice and its light huskiness, and a dub version which, in contrary, underlines all the smallest details and gradations of the sound. The remix by PROFF unexpectedly starts with the roll of drums in keeping with the best traditions of Plastikman and then shifts to the very well known signature sound by Vladimir, where melodics and funk entirely control the atmosphere. Another fellow Russian producer, Andrey Poison Pro, in his turn, did two very special interpretations for this single, both very atmospheric and dancefloor suitable, a vocal one and a dub one.

The large event is dedicated to electronic music, extreme and adventure sports — the showcase by Intricate Records boasts an impressive team of Cosmonaut, Envotion, Fon.Leman, Poison Pro and PROFF.

The annual festival of electronic music and extreme sports «GES» was established in 2007 and will unite the fans of active lifestyle and club music already for the 8th time in 2014 on the territory of Samara region in Russia. The sand of Kopylovo, the massive chain of Zhigulevskie mountains and, of course, the river Volga create a favourable soil not jut for beach dancing but also for a wide variety of adventure outdoor activities. Nowadays GES festival takes place close to the wickets of Zhigulevskaya hydroelectric power station, near the picturesque water storage reserve — for its large size it is popularly called «Zhigulevskoe sea». The event is held with the general support of Togliatti city district Administration and Department of Tourism of Samara region, it puts together the appearance of over 20 electronic dance music live acts and DJs from all around the world with over 20 different extreme sports activities. For the first time in the history of GES Festival, Intricate Records will present a solid label showcase at Ultraviolet dancefloor — on the 12th of July 2014 the Dutch project Envotion, the most prolific resident artist Fon.Leman plus the DJs Cosmonaut, Poison Pro and PROFF will headline the night and display the diverse sides of the modern electronic sound as promoted by the Russian Progressive label.

Fon.Leman prepares official two-parts compilation, as a part of Intricate Records label showcase on GES Festival 2014. Its tracklist fully provides the title of Alex Fon.Leman as the most prolific label resident. Half of the material is provided by himself. The compilation will be available in stores Beatport and iTunes, as well as on CDs in Russia.

Intricate Records is ready to present the long-awaited sequel of the label’s signature compilations. The second issue of «Intricate Sessions» will be released in summer 2014. In accordance with the last year’s tradition, two permanent residents and label co-founders, PROFF and Vadim Soloviev are responsible for compiling and mixing of Volume Two. The main release will be introduced by two samplers. The second sampler will be put together by PROFF. Three tracks from this sampler are already confirmed to appear on Vladimir’s mix later on, these are: «Robots» by Envotion, «The Computer» by Feu d’Or and «Believe» by Local Heroes.

The Dutch trio Envotion continues spreading their extra-sensible electronic sound to the masses. This time the guys from Maastricht composed a track «Robots» and reminded us about the long forgotten subject of human communication with machines and the search for balance between technologies and emotions. Here and there you could trace the reminiscences of the classical «The Robots» by Kraftwerk, however, its content is much more major and cheerful compared to the creation of the German team. Another track in the sampler, also with a title that shows connection with high-tech solutions, was composed by the label’s good old friend, Feu d’Or — two years ago he joined the Intricate catalog with two hits, «Chasin Joe» and «Singapore». 

His latest production, «The Computer», in contrary, is heavyset and outsize, even clumsy, but at the same time not less attractive and melodic than the previous works by this musician. A totally new name for the label and its followers is Local Heroes – are three rugged fellows from Buffalo with very serious commitments to update their status of local scene heroes to the internationally acclaimed trio. One of the first steps in this direction is their original production «Believe», a lightsome track they submitted especially for the second «Intricate Sessions» compilation.

Must Get There marks the debut for Majestique on Eskimo Recordings. The original is situated in that wide area we call “disco” and is backed with remixes by Martin Dubka and Drop Out Orchestra.

Bursting from the digital underground is Majestique, a Dutch production duo that grew up in the mid eighties. After they ran into each other, they discovered a shared passion for strange chords, running arpeggiators and dusty drum computers. A passion that is possibly programmed in their brains by influencers like Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Giorgio Moroder. With sudden access to unlimited analog machines, it felt like a higher power was trying to tell these guys it was time to create something timeless in a digital era where music is consumed so quickly.

Must Get There is taken from the upcoming Eskimo compilation that will be out after summer.
