To celebrate the end of the world, Umwelt and Traumstadt push Gwendoline even further into the dark.
Gwendoline, the rising French -futur star- cold wave band, characterized by their WTF lyrics, received two great remixes of their must have LP “Après c'est gobelet” (in english : then it’s cup).
First, Traumstadt with this amazing progressive remix of the track “Voldebière”, a deep krautrock version that makes think about the Soulwax’ work in a more underground way. Then it's time for UMWELT, guarantor of rave essence and dark sounds to give a danceable version of the track “La Fin Du Monde”, the forthcoming closing track of all the warehouse parties & raves.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover” they say, well, this saying applies to Stéphane Laporte’s Fourrure Sounds Vol.2, for nothing solar lies behind the glorious sunset on the cover of his second album for Parisian imprint, Antinote. While Fourrure Sound Vol.1 recalled an era of naïve electronic experimentations recorded to soundtrack TV documentaries, Vol.2 resurrects 1990’s 12-hour-long rave parties. For the occasion, Stéphane Laporte changed the name of his godfathers from François De Roubaix and Jean-Jacques Perrey to Conrad Schnitzler and I-F.

For the first twenty minutes of the album, Laporte unleashes the monster he dreamt about, a golem made out of rusty bike chains and broken glass, providing some tracks for nightmarish dance floors with the dirty electro tunes Dispositions and Sound and the degenerate footworkish track, Ossature. You have to wait for the last two tracks of the record to finally find some semblance of serenity: Vitre, a synthetic ballad, and Tunnel, Stéphane Laporte’s stirring hymn for a generation of desperate ex-ravers.

The fields were moist and damp after the early morning rainfall, the birds chirped and sang in the glow of the daylight as the darkness was banished beyond the hill. Soon the farmer would emerge to tend to the crops, the piling weeds and the dense woodland which was thick and busy all around. This was his special place, a reclusive space in which he could be free from the rules and constraints of the mainland. City life had never been for him, he was a man of the country, a child of the corn. 

Keller Crackers are a Berlin based trio drawing upon a wealth of influence from krautrock, experimental music and ambient soundscapes. They blur the lines with a post punk inspired edge. The perfect remixer of choice would naturally be none other than Tolouse Low Trax, longstanding pioneer of krautrock and electronic eclecticism in Germany.
