Twilight Pilot

This is my "In Space" album, which came from an idea back in 2018. I had just made Alpha Polaris, a song I just intended for background music for The 8-Bit Guy and his videos. After releasing it, it became popular with a lot of fans, so I soon made another one, Alpha Centauri B. This song was used by The Brick Channel and then got a lot of plays from his videos.

I got the idea of making an album with only slow, spaced out songs and put them on vinyl and cassettes. Some four years later, I finally got my crap together and finalised enough songs to actually fill this album, so here you are. 11 songs in more or less the same vibe, however some turned out to be a little more upbeat than the first ones, but hopefully this is  a good thing. Vinyl and MC is coming later this year.

Jester of Sanity - Elysium

I found an old sketch I made several years ago, and thought this needed some further polishing. A very happy chord progression with a four on the floor stomping beat, that grew into a solid song. As usual I have some nice accoustic strumming guitars and a searing guitar solo from Håvard, but this time can proudly present some real brass from Bullseye Horns. Børge-Are did a quick arrangement of the original synth brass section and went to work with Mats and Kristoffer.

This is a prog/trance ode to water and the memory it carries - re contextualized melancholia into something triumphant. For this track, I reworked some synths on Yawning Portal's "Goodbye Forever" - so delicious

The Cincinnati Happy

Electronic musician from Norway. I started playing piano/keyboards in the mid 80s. After a few years at the municipal music school, I quickly grew tired of the simple piano-only education and got to move on to classes with keyboards and synths. From the early beginning with Technics K-200 rhythm keyboard from 1983 via some Casios/Hohner keyboards, I evolved with the later Technics KN-1000 and KN-2000 before moving on to Roland XP-50. As the computer revolution made DAWs affordable, 1999 made sequencing using Cubase easy and the studio grew ever larger with more outboard gear. Today the studio has become a sizeable and functional MIDI/arranging studio with over 40 synths/modules and more centered around a MacPro with MOTU’s Digital Performer, and numerous more or less famous productions.

I have always had a musical approach towards sound engineering and composing, rooted mainly in vivid harmonic structures and saturated compositions. Inspiration has always been the likes of Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Eric Serra to name a few giants in the electronic scene, but also a heart towards well produced pop music from the 70s and 80s as well as epic film scores from John Williams, Alan Silvestri and Hans Zimmer. The baby era of computer music from the late 80s and early 90s was also a heavy influence.
