"What geometry really is is a method of describing the way the universe works. Therefore, looking at the origin of the spiral is a way of assessing the conditions of the cosmos.
An Archimedean spiral, also know as an arithmetic spiral, advances in this way as it approaches infinity, or the perfect circle that is the periphery of the cosmos. Of course, it is impossible to actually arrive at infinity and the edge of the cosmos, so the energy of the line moves back toward the originating point, this time in a logarithmic spiral that begins with an angular movement away from the circular curve. This movement is repeated along the lineʼs course back to the originating point. Whereas the Archimedean spiral seeks the circle—and as such represents feminine energy—its inverse, the logarithmic spiral, seeks the straight line and the originating point—representing masculine energy. The two spirals are the paths of an out-and-back motion that represents the breathing out and the breathing in of the universe."

After two full albums they now deliver a digital EP for the psytrance crowds. The title track opens the debates with some nice melodic psychedelics at 140 bpm. The Ital remix takes it a step further, going deeper, adding some typical South American flavor. 'Edison's Future' brings the trademark uplifting Ephedrix touch and 'Mexican Wave' is going all out on the dance floor. The wonderful chill out remix of 'Prototype' by Sacral Reason is the extra treat to bring you back in a zen state of mind.

Prototype in the album edit, the last track from Ephedrix' first album "Far Away", released on Dacru Records in april 2008.

The track was released before in the original mix on Dacru Records' compilation "Orientation Vol.3" and lisenced by B2B for their compilation cd "Back2Basics".

The album version was licensed by UK based label YSE on August 8th 2008 for their compilation "Goa Tribes Vol.4".

Ephedrix is Jochem Peterson, since many years now one of the icons of the Belgian psychedelic trance scene. I

Ephedrix is psytrance with uplifting melodies, groovy percussion, crystal clear bass lines and a pumping sound. In 2005 Ephedrix joined Dacru Records. Shortly after their unique style was quickly picked up by party promoters around the world. So far this has taken him to various countries all over Europe and more exotic locations as Japan, Mexico and Peru.

With various compilation releases under his belt, the debut full album ‘Far Away’ came out in April 2008. The music was an instant success and even picked up by people as Christopher Lawrence and John 00 Fleming. In September 2009 a second full album ‘Expander’, a special remix album, astonished the trance community. It includes some of the finest names of the full on world. Silicon Sound, DNA, Protoculture, Talamasca, Electro Sun, Aquila, Chronos and Lamat are all part of the tracklist.
