It comes as no surprise to find that Epic45 grew up - and still reside - in a small rural village in the heartland of the English Midlands.Based around the nucleus of 27-year-old school friends Ben Holton and Rob Glover, Epic45 have had a varied and fluid line-up since their debut in 1999, releasing a series of highly acclaimed EPs and albums for labels such as Bearos, Awkward Silence and Where Are My Records. The band has also received radio airplay from the late John Peel, Steve Lamacq and Verity Sharp.

Inspired by their surroundings, blissful childhood summers and mysterious/inspiring walks, the duo have been making music for more than a decade.

Epic45's last full-length album, 2007's “May Your Heart Be The Map” cemented the band's reputation as purveyors of gorgeous, hazy, atmospheric pop. Described by Word Magazine as “The best English summer album ever”, it displayed Epic45's masterful blending of acoustic and electronic instruments, their subtle use of field recordings to evoke different moods and memories, and glorious, understated vocal harmonies.

The first single from epic45’s new album, Weathering, is a song co-written 
by the band along with Stephen Jones of Babybird. The collaboration came about 
after Stephen saw a Youtube video of epic45 covering the early Babybird track,
‘Losing My Hair’ on a French radio station. Impressed by their cover, he contacted 
the band and after a few email exchanges, they agreed to work together on a track 
for epic45’s new album. 

Stephen lends his trademark falsetto vocals and lyrics to the track and, as with all 
of the other collaborations on Weathering, this was done entirely over the internet, 
with both parties still yet to meet in person.

Paul de Jong is best known as the cofounder, cellist and resident found sound savant of the beloved, defunct collage-pop duo, the Books. Five years after that band delivered their final album, The Way Out, to much acclaim, de Jong delivers his first solo album, IF.

IF sets the Books' early albums (particularly The Lemon of Pink) as a starting point, and elevates that beguiling sense of wonder and amazement to genuinely transcendent new heights. De Jong's ability to find the musical in the mundane has always been uncanny — it is part of what made the Books so magical – and that gift is what makes IF such a marvelous curiosity, and such a true pleasure to hear. In de Jong’s world, everything around him is a potential instrument: his mind-bogglingly vast collection of forgotten private press regional folk records, spoken-word oddities of indeterminate origin unearthed in discarded thrift store piles, and various everyday household utensils that we tend to take for granted. One man’s trash is de Jong’s tool to craft yet another treasure.

Featuring a handful of friends and family as musical guests, IF steers a course from joyously eccentric folk-pop to humorously inside-out jazz, resulting in a refreshing piece of outsider art with a replay value that's off the charts.

The first publication of piano pieces by Erased Tapes composer and musician Peter Broderick features 20 works and an exclusive album of recordings plus unique notes from the composer.

In this, his first volume of sheet music, Peter Broderick collects 20 works for solo piano alongside exclusive new recordings. Taken from his piano-led records such as Docile, Float, How They Are, Partners and Grunewald, some are original solo works while others have been stripped back and arranged for solo piano for the first time. The collection also includes the composer’s performance and repertoire notes.

“Ever since I started releasing records of piano music back in 2007, it seems that every few months I get an email from a stranger, asking me if I have sheet music for my piano songs. Sometimes people even write to me assuming that the sheet music already exists, asking in regards to a particular song, “Where can I find the sheet music?” My response to all these requests has been always been the same . . . “Unfortunately the music is only written in my head and in my fingers, but I do hope that maybe one day I’ll be able to write some of it out and publish a book of sheet music.” And finally, ten years later, that day is here! I am very proud to announce that Piano Works Vol. 1, my first book of piano sheet music, will be available in mid-June. 'Find Sound' is the debut record from Shards, a London based vocal group led by singer, composer and producer Kieran Brunt. Combining voices, synths and percussion, Find Sound is an astonishing exploration of the human voice; using the concepts of sound and light as simple metaphors for gaining understanding. The album’s pieces are intended to be miniature sonic paintings, with each adding to an overall picture of the emotional confusion of early adulthood: the uncertainty, the excitement, the terror and relief.

After collaborating with Terry Riley in 2016, Brunt was asked by the Barbican to form a choral group for Nils Frahm’s Possibly Colliding festival that summer. Following the success of the shows, Frahm invited Brunt to join him in Berlin to collaborate on choral arrangements for his recent album 'All Melody'. Shards have since gone on to collaborate with other notable artists, including Michael Price on his recent LP 'Tender Symmetry'.

Each of the singers in Shards brings a very distinctive musical personality to the group, something which Brunt was eager to emphasise on their debut record. Rather than aiming for a seamless blend or absolute precision when recording, the differences between voices has been intentionally highlighted — celebrating their unique textures and inviting the listener to hear their minutest details up-close.

"The group ended up consisting almost entirely of friends and friends-of-friends. I also tried my best to ask people who weren’t just singers, but who do have other projects and musical interests. As such, we have people in the group who are also composers, instrumentalists, folk musicians and teachers.
