Beneath a veneer of eerie calm, **"Inferno"** reimagines catastrophe through the lens of modern post-punk—cold, brooding, and dripping with existential dread. The track trades blistering solos for jagged guitars and a pulsating bassline, weaving a stark narrative of innocence obliterated by an unseen, unstoppable force.  

The verses unfold like a grainy film reel: sunlit streets, children’s laughter, swallowed by a creeping shadow. The chorus—*“It’s raining with fire!”*—repeats like a detached, almost robotic incantation, evoking the numb horror of witnessing collapse. The bridge strips the chaos to a whisper, layering haunted vocals over a skeletal synth line, as if the world is holding its breath.  

**Soundscapes of Urban Decay:**  
Jagged, wiry guitar hooks slice through a murky bass groove, while drum machines skitter like debris in the wind. The vocals oscillate between a deadpan murmur and sudden, desperate shouts (*“Oh God! Fire!”*), channeling the tension of early **Bauhaus** or **Siouxsie and the Banshees**. The outro dissolves into a cold, mechanical fade, leaving only the ghostly echo of *“Oh god fire…”* and the crackle of static.

Epic Down is a duo from Leipzig, Germany dedicated to the sluggish grooves and lumbering riffs of sludge & doom, started in 2021 by Mitzschi (guitar(s)/bass) and Fabian (drums/vocals).
Influenced by primal doom, drone and stoner, the sound of Epic Down is mainly characterized by solid downtempo grooves and rolling walls of guitars, complemented by slightly melancholic vocals.

With the release of their first EP "Equinox Pt1" and it’s sequel "Equinox Pt2" in 2023, the band stepped into the light of publicity.
After signing to Argonauta Records the band was able to celebrate the release of „days of oblivion“ as their debut album in fall 2024.
