Empty House (Deltarune Ch. 3)

(which was inspired by TheTuneHero's Dark World sprite of Wilkus Milkus's Deltarune OC).

I wanted something that was clearly a light world theme but had underlying sinister tones, even when the instruments were warm. It's... cheery, in the A form, but it's a front, and a lousy one at that.
In keeping with the theme of mirrors, I experimented with retrograding motifs and dynamics. The B form melody is a manipulated retrograde of Don't Forget, and one I'm quite happy with, at that. This hopefully won't be the final version (I'd at least like to attempt working on it in FL Studio) but for a MuseScore-only first go at it, this is pretty good.

ROSE: Kanaya... That was her name. And to think, I never even got a chance to meet her in person... Now, I never will.
ROSE: She was my friend.

ROSE: I know I should've evacuated with the others, but someone has to stop you now before anyone else gets killed.
ROSE: Maybe it's my self-destructive tendencies... Maybe it's the will of the outer gods... Maybe I just don't care anymore...
ROSE: Whatever the case...
* Rose draws her wands.
ROSE: Let's dance.
