Basing this off of the moderato version of the theme, I really wanted to create a suspenseful, driving feeling with this version, like you're just about to crack through the facade and searching for that last oppotunity to blow apart their entire story.

the "famitracks" ost in cave story+ is pretty shit overall but nowhere do i believe it's more prominent than balrog's theme, which has all character stripped from it

Original- Out In The Open [2A03]

I found a nice wind chime in the park and decided to record it and sample it later. I took a short part with 3-4 notes in it, put it in a sampler and improvised on a keyboard to create interesting harmonies. The background noise and wind add nice atmosphere. I think it turned out really nice!

Road to Bowser - Render96

Decided to remix the less-talked-about version of Labyrinth Zone.

I think what inspired this remix was a conversation I saw people have about how they preferred some 8-bit versions of the Sonic 1 tracks to the 16-bit ones, so that got me listening to ones like Labyrinth and Scrap Brain and I pretty much immediately got an idea for how I could remix Labyrinth and here I am now.

As for which version of Labyrinth I prefer myself... eh, I think both are good. I like the tone of Scrap Brain's 16-bit version a lot more though, the 8-bit one is a good composition but I don't think it fits the zone all too well.
