Inspired by the one who made me believe in Love again and the long Norwegian winters I curated my most various and longest podcast so far. 
The Longest Winter felt like the right name for this one cause this past Winter season has been one of the longest I've ever experienced and it influenced me to start exploring the darker but still melodic sides of the House and Techno genres.

Melody Lab Selects Abstraal [SLCTS #24]

Rayco Santos, DJ, label owner and producer. Renowned for his storytelling sets and his carefully selected, elegant sound, Rayco never fails to submerse his listeners in a beautifully progressive, deep-house trance.

Built on years of experience and respected for staying true to his sound, Rayco has managed to create a musical-realm of his own. Rayco’s sessions are filled with exquisite melodies and harmonising vocals, equally suited to night time and they are for sunrise or sunset sets.

Since the early 90’s Rayco has divided his time behind the decks and recording in the studio. In November 2011 Rayco released his first podcast, Ready To Be Chilled, a podcast globally renowned for its relaxing take on the classic dance floor scene, a fusion of Deep-house, Downtempo and Nu Disco. 

Over time the popularity of the podcast on social networks skyrocketed. To date the podcast has hit over two million plays and can be heard on most national and international radio stations on a weekly basis. 

Following the success of his podcast, Rayco saw the opportunity to become co-owner of the music label Adult Music. Re-launching in 2013 as Be Adult Music the Be Adult Team have been signing various artists and soaring to number one  in many digital stores such as traxsource. 

Travelling on a regular basis to headline events around the world in; Egypt, Belgium, Budapest, Greece, Tunisia, Barcelona, Austria, Mallorca, Marbella, Tenerife and Italy, Ibiza is where is where Rayco has found his summer base and his residencies in many top venues. 
You can find Santos mixing in Cotton Beach Club, Nassau Beach Club Ibiza, Tanit Ibiza, Santos Hotel, Paradiso Hotel, Cala Bonita (previously PK2), Dunes, and selected events in Ibiza.

Jorge Evangelista aka Kokiyo was born in 1989 in Tijuana, Mexico.
He began his career as a DJ in 2006 and throughout these years he has played in small clubs to festivals sharing the stage with artists such as James Zabiela, Italoboyz, Audiofly, Lee Burridge, Doc Martin, and many more.

As a DJ and producer, his sound can be defined as a mixture of organic,
melodic, emotional and ethnic atmospheres, all combined creating a
house sound with minimalist textures and progressive touches. He has releases on record labels like Hoomidaas, Elebated, Zenebona, Kiksuya, Suprematic, Everything Will Be Ok, 3rd Avenue, Flug Lab, Canopy.

Nowadays Kokiyo is focusing on his studio working on several projects to release this 2023. Stay tuned!
