Stellar (Bonus Track)

Based on the flight of the Starship Avalon from the 2016 movie "Passengers", the opening track of the Legacy of Thought release "Interstellar Engines", is a slow yet complex, atmospheric cinematic ambient piece that captures the serenity and vastness of deep space. Inspired by the 90-year voyage of the fictional starship with its 5000 sleeping passengers and crew, the track evokes the quiet passage of time, the hum of the cosmos, and the fragility of destiny before the unforeseen strikes in the form of a devasting meteorite impact, from which the ship gradually recovers.


Avalon - inspired by the movie Passengers

With Horizon, South African composer Jason van Wyk returns to his Inherent material in a new light. Three tracks, Inner, Shine, and Cascades, are transformed through an ambient lens, trading rhythmic momentum for expansiveness and contemplation. The result is a companion piece that spotlights the latent tranquility and emotional resonance of the originals, reframing familiar melodies as immersive sonic landscapes. Hi, I’m Tim. Under the name Epigenetics I create electronic ambient music, or as I like to call it: Space Music. 

My style & sound have elements of Downtempo, Psybient and Electronica where I combine strong melodies and driving rhythms with the goal of creating soundtracks for journeys outwards or inwards.

I have been making 'analog' music with my piano and guitar, since I was young, before making the change to electronic music. I think you might hear the influence of that.
These days I use a MIDI keyboard and VST's to record the tracks one by one in Ableton Live. And then do the mastering in Adobe Audition.
