Zen in a Nightclub is an international multi-collaborative music project founded in 2019 by street performer Monty Cash dedicated to crafting music entirely from free-form and improvisation for non-commercial releases. The project embraces independent production, sidestepping mainstream music channels to resonate with the underground scene. With two releases on the netlabel Silent Flow (silentflow.org) Zen in a Nightclub remains committed to an authentic ethos that prioritizes community and creativity over profit and personal ambition.

When Monty showed me the original track I was struck by the stark beauty of the looped instruments and the vivid imagery of Maeve’s lyrics. I was inspired to try and use my production skills to frame and complement that original spirit in a different way.

This is to date the proudest of my ‘Sonic Illustration’ experiments. My attempts to create electronic music with an organic ‘live’ heart. 
This time by taking an existing ‘live’ creation and weaving my psychedelic beats and details around the sounds and words.

Rodion Kudryavtsev aka Samsara inc. is from Khakassia. He’s been practicing music since he was thirteen years old, and has tried lots of genres: from jazz to mathcore. He plays numerous stringed and keyboard instruments and the bass guitar is his main. Samsara Inc. started in 2014 and has issued 6 albums so far. Music of the project is a talented mix of chill, dub, trip hop, Latin, broken beat, and psy. His live performances happen at many Russian festivals.

On a Friday evening, I performed a two-hour set in a magnificent chapel, collaborating with Esther Landa's "Love in Motion" project. The performance was enriched by the extraordinary talents of Frank Francesco Jenniskens, who brought additional dimensions to the music with his masterful violin, singing saw, and flute. A particularly memorable moment unfolds at the one-hour mark, where a pivotal break in the music marks a transformation in the journey.

This performance held special significance for me, emerging from a period of personal turbulence marked by considerable ups and downs. The set begins with deliberate restraint, gradually unfolding like a conversation with the audience. It mirrors the delicate process of building trust in a crowded room—starting cautiously, then slowly allowing barriers to fall away as authentic connection emerges. The progression of the music tells a story of vulnerability, from cautious beginnings to the gradual revelation of one's true self, like slowly removing a mask to reveal what lies beneath.

DJ The White Rabbit, also known as Sebastiaan White, is a true visionary in the world of electronic music. His journey began in his youth, experimenting with mixing cassette tapes, a passion that evolved as he transitioned to turntables and CD players. His sets seamlessly blend techno, house, classical, drum & bass, ambient, folk, breaks, and funk. Harlequin Chameleon is the music project of David Gillett from Albany, Western Australia. Beginning as a psytrance and downtempo project it's now moving in true Chameleonic directions and taking in organic songcraft, vocals and live guitar via his virtuosic guitar work in gypsy and flamenco bands.

In late 2024 he will be releasing a new track every month.

His debut 2023 Album 'Biodiversity' on Psydonia Records featured multi-layered melodies, organic bio-soundscapes, evocative use of real instruments and soaring sound design leading dancers into uncharted sonic landscape.

Psy Chill producer and Downtempo DJ, Chillgressive sound ranging from 70 to 120 bpms. Occasional Psy Trance releases.

Kinetic Energy is my artist name for mixing Psychedelic-Trance and other electronic dance music in Berlin.

"In physics, the kinetic energy of an object is the energy that it possesses due to its motion. 
The goal of the Berlin DJ is to create this motion during his energising and multidimensional sets and pass it on to his crowd. In the age of 12 he already discovered the first goa-trance discs of his parents and quickly developed a devotion to progressive electronic music. A few years later he started exploring the psychedelic partyscene in the Berlin nightlife which since then he is continuously coming back to.

Kinetic Energy treats his audience with complex psychedelic sounds around the 145 BPM and usually moves around a narrow path between light and darkness. His sets have a consistent development that inherits groovy basslines, sizzling sounds and progressive leads which will make the crowd quickly dance into trance."
