As we enter the bountiful bliss of summertime, When We Dip brings together some of our favourite material from across the label families to create a mix brimming with sun-kissed energy.

Été harnesses deep and melodic tones, venturing through groovy deep house numbers drenched in emotive character. From Powel to DSF to Enamour, with plenty of starlets in between, we curated Été to soundtrack this summer's flow.

On Christmas night a group of friends gathered for a warm candlelit dinner. Each guest brought some food, a small gift, and their coziest sweater. 

Many months prior to this night I had a dream. It was a dream of an abstract musical set, something I had never tried before. For many months I collected tracks that I felt would fit this dream set, hoping one day I would find myself in a moment ripe for it.

Dinner took on a special form. Guests shared intimate stories and exchanged their gifts lovingly. After dessert they found themselves lounging in a room of rugs and furry blankets and cushions. There were decks on the floor and there were speakers on the floor too.

It was a perfect moment for the dream set. I started to play as the guests lounged on the floor. We drowned in the music for four hours and before we knew it, sunrise was around the corner. We had reached magic together. 

This set is a recording of that wonderful night. It may surprise you as is full of tracks with no beat. I hope you are able to find the magic in it, as those of us did on that special night.

Erdi Irmak is no stranger to the electronic music scene, and an established creator of soulful and dreamy productions released on amazing labels such as @taleandtone, @hoomidaas, @wwdxyz, @thesoundgardenrecords and many more.

Cross-cultural sounds and influences are the calling cards of the Erdi Irmak protfolio. Born in the hubbub of cosmopolitan Istanbul where Asia meets Europe across the vast Bosphorous River, Irmak's rise to the higher echelons of the musical elite is as rapid as it is impressive.

Thoroughly immersed in the sounds of his Turkish homeland from an early age, a combination of "chilled out west and far east sounds" became the fundamental tenets of a musical ideology that has brought success across a wide spectrum of labels and genres. Proficient in deep and downtempo, a further foray into electronica has seen the development of a prolific talent.
