hopelessbrokeboi is a decaying signal in the shape of a human — a post-collapse artist channeling schizophrenia, poverty, and apocalypse into raw sound and ruined textiles. Born from the ruins of self and system, hopelessbrokeboi isn’t just a name — it’s a diagnosis, a confession, and a warning. His work weaves together trauma, psychosis, and survival into a haunted archive of what it means to be alive when everything has already died.

Musically, he lingers in the shadows between genres: industrial rot, emo bloodletting, clouded trap, static-drenched punk — nothing fits clean. His vocals often feel like a séance, whispering from the static of a broken speaker; sometimes numb, sometimes screaming like a possessed radio, always real. Beats collapse under the weight of despair and distortion. Melodies bleed from cheap synths and sampled detritus, fused with field recordings, voices in his head, and moments stolen from an unraveling reality.

Visually and stylistically, hopelessbrokeboi is the prophet of a dying world. His fashion label, Signal in Ruins, mirrors the same energy — garments built from death, fire, and repurposed American dreams. Teeth, rusted metal, scorched denim, and bloodstained patches aren’t accessories — they’re relics. Every piece tells a story: scavenged, cursed, alive.

Living on the margins — probation, therapy, hunger, resurrection — he documents not from safety, but from the trench. This isn’t aesthetic; this is survival rendered as vision. There’s no polished brand strategy. No safe distance. Just a broken antenna picking up transmissions from the end of the world, reshaped into something beautiful and feral.

Epitaph Records is an independent music label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights spawned what became known as the 90s punk explosion.
