“I was so blown away this happened. One random day, Rivers Cuomo Tweeted at me because he heard “Light” and he was like, “yo, ‘Light’ is so dope.” He DMed me with, “if you ever have something you'd like to work on, send it.” I went to my studio and wrote the drop of “wheels up.” He loved it. I think he was touring at the time, and he was like “we all really love it here in Weezer land.” We went back and forth over email, writing the lyrics together. The first lyrics were all different. I felt so shy to tell him that I was looking for something else, because who am I to tell Rivers Cuomo to change his lyrics? But he was so open to it, and then he was like, “oh, this is actually so cool.” 

Before San Holo, I was a guitar teacher. Man, the amount of times I taught kids Weezer songs.. They all wanted to play “Say It Ain’t So.”  It's so special to me that I got to write a song with Rivers. This guy's a freaking legend, and nostalgia is so important for me. Full circle!" - San

when I heard the original track I couldn't help but laugh and dance around. as amazing as the vocal content is, it also has this extremely infectious hook that grabbed me alongside a dark piano melody that fit the mood perfectly.

this remix has been in the works for a while now, and over the weekend I managed to make a drop hard enough to keep up with the original. this is for the middle of a set where the energy can be taken to another level or the last song you play before getting out of the car and walk into a venue for a show.
