Sol*Selectas next release continues to push sonic boundaries with two original tracks from world renowned DJ/producer duo Nadastrom. Fresh off their 2015 debut album, which saw them exploring a more refined deep house sound, Dave and Matt delve into cosmic inspirations with their latest release, "Jupiter b/w Chivas". Both tracks are based around strong melodic themes with the same psychedelic synths dancing wildly around their hooks. "Jupiter" takes a stripped back approach relying solely on a kick and cabasa for it's drums, with lush synths guiding the impactful journey, while "Chivas" uses polyrhythmic percussion to drive the record. Thematically, both songs draw inspiration from cosmic idioms. "Jupiter" literally takes the dance floor to another galaxy arriving on the planet's surface momentarily, only to be launched back into orbit with it's beautifully extended final buildup. Dave says that the vibe of "Chivas" stirred a smokey childhood memory of his elders celebrating Carnaval in the Andean mountains of Ecuador. Their drink of choice at the time? Scotch whiskey. And they would drink lots of it, dancing and toasting all night to the spirit of San Juanito and other shaman-like native characters. Sol*Selectas is very excited to bring this music to dance floors across the globe, and we hope these tunes will create the magical moments their inspiration foretells. Kasper Bjørke’s upcoming mini-LP ‘Fountain of Youth’ (Out June 10th) bends genres such as classic house, electro, post disco and techno, into his own melting pot of late night jams - created entirely for the dancefloors. It ́s Kaspers joyous return to clubland, after focusing his previous album productions on song oriented compositions, suitable for home listening rather than the clubs. We can ́t  wait to share it with you!

Before that, ‘Cloud 9’, leading single from ‘Fountain of Youth’ is released on May 20th - and arriving with a remix package, as always handpicked by Kasper himself.

‘Cloud 9’ comes in two original versions: An instrumental version, that with its dreamy analoge OB-8 pads, haunting melancholic bell theme and 808 breakbeats surely will take you back in time. The vocal mix features Urdur from Icelandic band GusGus. Urdur delivers a infectious hookline, with a clear reference to the 90s vocal house scene.

Weval, soon to release their debut album on Kompakt, provides a stunning and brilliantly different take on the original, refocusing the vibe into a shuffling, lo-fi jam, complete with their signature sampled, pitched vocal bits.

The Dub, available via Juno only, allows yet more space to the smudged, warm groove.

The Italian duo Marvin & Guy, known for their jams on John Talabots Hivern Discs and most recently on Correspondant Records, brings a beefy, chugging Italo vibe to their main version with a classic arpeggio synth anthem. Marvin & Guy’s Dub Remix is pushing the simmering melodies into a dreamy climax - and is a sure shot for the open air sunset slots this summer.

New York artist E-Prosounds’ latest effort, 'Puzzle Textbook,' is instantly captivating because of its organic, down-to-earth aesthetic. It’s just as accessible as it is challenging, thanks to E-Pro’s own Jazz-leaning, Boom bap production combined with his smooth, in-the-pocket rhyming. It’s the work of an artist who’s pushing himself to create his best project to date, while also reminding the world that NY rap runs deeper than you may think.

E-Pro raps with a stream-of-consciousness approach that can be as engaging as the listener chooses. Given that his voice remains in a deeper monotone for most of the project, it’s easy to hear it as another instrument within his imaginative, looping beats. The 11 instrumentals on here are some of the finest that he’s produced to date, as they reveal his ability to experiment (“Intro”), tinker with jazz (“Memory Lane”), and craft ‘80s-leaning atmospheric Boom bap (“Right Now”). 

However, when you allow your ears to perk up and hear what he’s saying, there are puzzles to be solved by his lyrics. Like when he advises the listener to, “Clean out your skull, and sweep the garage/ Pop the shiraz, be like Russell Westbrook.” It’s practical life advice partially disguised by left-field abstractions—and to say it’s compelling would be an understatement. Other highlights in this vein include “Sunset” and lead single, “Circle.”

“Each song is an individual puzzle piece and they all come together to form a textbook,” E-Pro explains. “Together, they form a guide to destroy and rebuild society, appreciate the true nature of reality, and unite humanity in the beauty of it all.”

'Puzzle Textbook' follows 2016’s 'Joke Rogan' EP, which found the artist branching out and utilizing outside production from Rusty Mack (of Harry Fraud’s SRFSCHL crew) for the entire release. But on his latest effort, E-Pro is back to taking full control of his sound and demonstrating just how extremely talented he is as both a producer and emcee.
