This month, we continue our journey through Romania and present an artist that has been nothing but an inspiration to many of us in the scene - a truly talented guest that needs no introduction.

As one third of the Lisiere Collectif, Andu Simion (@andusimion) learned early and often how to take a dancefloor on a hypnotic, grooving journey throughout the night. He was born in the summer of 1989, few months before the Romanian communist revolution, in Ploiesti, a small city located near Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

In 2000 he started photographing places which had marks of the communist era, which just ended in Romania. Inspired by the grey blocks from his neighborhood, old cars and the industrialization, the young artist started having contacts with the world of music including hip-hop and also electronic fields.

In 2010 he started mixing in various clubs from Ploiesti, where he studied near other DJs and improved his technique using 4/4 beat exercises.

Without further ado, sit back and enjoy the beautiful journey of sounds that Andu Simion has curated for us this month.

We have been patiently waiting for a few months to bring you this edition of the Equal / Distant podcast as we are very excited for this one. We are honored to welcome our very first live set and guest from Japan - Masa (@fucksleepmasa).

Building deep sounds from Nagoya, Masa has been in the scene since 2003 and discovered his passion for electronic music after attending several parties in India and across Europe. With the encourage of his friends, he soon started to produce his own music and vision for sound.

Masa now runs his own label fücksleep(@fucksleep_podcasting) and puts his most focus towards playing live sets. Recently, he also released the Lonesome Rummy EP on Japan's well known RICE label. He also plays under the alias of shibamasa with his counterpart Shiba and has also had experience playing with Daniel Bell, Barbara Preisinger, Jan Kruger, 
Julietta, Sander Baan, Dafoe, Claudia Amprimo, Thilo, Samuel Deep, Dj Masada, Yone-ko, Kyoka.

With the start of the second chapter of our track releases, we are also proud to announce the latest edition of our Equal Podcasts with Rob Collman (@robc) of Stopouts / Alien Recordings (@alienrecordings).

The mix itself is made up of Rob's year long favorites, a few tracks from some talented friends and cohorts, some tracks that he has been digging lately and upcoming productions from Alien Recordings, including one from a new label they are just starting up called "Alien Imprints".

"Play the music that everybody loves but nobody knows" is the best way to describe @Sunaas, a 24 years old Parisian DJ and producer. Passionate about old and uncommon records, either in a set or in his productions, he loves using old sounds to create something new. He doesn't like to label his music under genres such as minimal, house, breakbeat, techno.. For Sunaas, he feels what he plays and plays what he feels. The goal for him is to make a journey for the audience and have the listeners travel through his set.

It is with great joy and excitement that we would like to present the latest edition of our podcast releases featuring a young artist from Romania, Dimitrie Jbanca (@dimitriejbanca).

Influenced by the early 90s groovy beats that were produced all around the globe, Dimitrie's style was formed. With a ravenous appetite for digging and searching through old records, Dimitrie started to collect records and produce music, blending melodic synths with dirty drums and odd samples with classic 909 rhythms. 

In 2018, Anxious Delay Group (adg303) was formed, when Andu Simion, Dimitrie, and his brother, George, decided they should combine their varied style into one piece and create ADG. 

Techno, House or Breaks; Electro, Breakbeat, or IDM; no matter what your choices are, you will enjoy Dimitrie's DJ sets. Versatility, groove, and passionate attention to details have proven over the years to be his trademarks when "attacking the musical topics" in his life. This set reflects a great part of Dimitrie's influence and taste over the years. We hope you truly enjoy this set as we did.

We are pleased to welcome @nikizi, one of our dearest friends and an extremely talented artist for this month's installment of Equal / Distant.

Nikizi has always been passionate about music. When he was a child, he was exposed to music at home, from rock to soul music, and soon discovered the hip-hop movement thanks to french rap, around the age of 11. Since then, he has been locked to it and it has acted as a huge influence to his productions.

Shortly after, he discovered electronic music when first going to clubs during his teenage years and started to be part of the underground scene when he first started Djing and promoting parties around the age of 21.

Without further ado, we invite you to listen to this lovely set which includes a selection of his favorites and influences. This is a truly special mix and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
