Coco Bryce (@cocobrycebeats) is a veteran of the drum & bass scene, but also one of its most cutting-edge artists. The Breda-born DJ and producer is a master of intricate drum patterns and superbly warm and emotive pads. His silky, soulful sounds some with deft vocals and proper piano riffs that are always on the more minimal end of the spectrum, but still make a lasting impact. Next to his own Myor label, he has landed on the likes of Critical Recordings, Lobster Theremin and Fresh 86, and in 2022 alone he has put out at least six different EPs. 

True to his prolific form, this week's mix is packed with his own exclusive and unreleased tunes as well as gems from Paradox, Denham Audio and DJ H. It adds up to an absorbing hour of stylish and stripped-back rhythms that both float in the cosmos and root you to the dance floor. Lush chords and subtle waves of euphoria permeate the whole mix and make it as emotionally touching as it is physically moving.

Crack Mix 472: EMA

Jungist is Hong Kong born, Eora/Sydney based DJ, producer and promoter. Her selections are broad, yet maintain a broody, grittiness. Often setting the scene with cinematic soundscapes, noise and ambience; Jungist finds a way to bring it back to dark drum and bass and body shaking rhythms. 
Jungist is inspired by urban life, the queer community, sound system culture and resistance movements. Artists she admires include Autechre, ZULI, Lee Gamble, Christoph de Babylon, Azu Tiwaline and Pessimist. 

Jungist has shared a lineup with international artists including Air Max 97’, Loefah, Mad Zach, and Keeno. She has been featured on independent radio including FBi, Nomad, Skid Row and Orbital radio. She enjoys DJing in club, warehouse and doof settings as well as taking the time to craft mixes for radio and internet mix series. Jungist currently hosts the All Nighter on FBi radio as part of presenter training.

Jungist is co-founder of events and mix series, Decay Audio. Born out of a passion and thirst for a darker sound, the Decay weekly mix series showcases talent from around the world, offering artists a platform to experiment and break away from convention. Decay have put on two parties in the last three months. The last event at The Bridge Hotel in Rozelle was a marathon 14-hour rave which sold over 700 tickets and featured over 20 artists curated by Jungist across two rooms and an outdoor space with surprise guests Loefah & Patrice to close. The event was selected as RA pick. Jungist is currently working on exciting projects with Decay including a Noods Radio residency as well as a sit-down performance at award-winning venue, Phoenix Central Park.

Jungist released her debut track ‘Dark Room’ on Eora based label; Bass Water Freak Out and has a handful of self-released  tracks on soundcloud. Her productions are spaced out dubby and range from downtempo dub to lofty drum and bass.

Outside of music Zoe works full-time at a not-for-profit in the mental health space, organising mental health training for health professionals across Australia. She is passionate about mental health, harm reduction and community engagement. With her events, Zoe aims to create safe and inclusive spaces and to systematically radicalise nightlife diversity and combat ageism, tokenism and sexism through diverse and sincere programming that reflects the wider community.

Having caught the attention of the notable Bristol selector Danielle, Austen’s upcoming debut is set for release on her newly-announced label Soft Raw. With his tracks featured in key sets across several notable platforms, including Boiler Room, Fabric and Radio 1, Austen’s productions provide tension-ramping, head-spinning gear for the dance-floor.
