Due for release in November, Echoes of Memoria is the eagerly anticipated debut long player from Ameli Paul. A strikingly artistic project that sits somewhere in between electronica, alternative synthpop, breakbeat and even operatic excursions, the Berlin-based outfit has created a truly personal and contemporary work of art that breaks away from normative convention. 

The album was created over the past five years, with each track on the album representing a period in Ameli Paul's turbulent life. With an early Voice message [2016-08-21] (one of the tracks from the album), Ameli inspired Paul into making music together and a love romance between two people was born. 

The melting pot of a trained singer and awarded jazz musician with a successful electronic music producer, the common experiences, impressions, smells, emotions and encounters processed by both Ameli and Paul over the past seven years have shaped their unique musical signature. Overall Echoes of Memoria is a musical diary about transitions, inner turmoil and ultimately their break-up, which all reverberate together to build this monument, honoring and cherishing the countless precious moments they’ve shared. 

Playing live in renowned clubs and festivals, Ameli Paul are increasingly known for casting a spell on their audience. It’s this unique, multifaceted sound that is effortlessly melting genre boundaries and listeners’ hearts around the world. To accompany the album release in November, Ameli Paul will be supporting iconic German producer and internationally celebrated live act Monolink on his huge European winter tour. Taking on over a dozen shows across Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic in just five weeks, the tour kicks off at Progresja, Warsaw on November 9 and concludes at Zoom, Frankfurt on December 10. Release Info: 
German live act and vocal electronica outfit, Ameli Paul, release their EP Love For One Another via independent Berlin-based imprint MEIOSIS. 

Our generation is seemingly dancing at the cliff of the edge. A paradoxical state of solitude amidst a sea of faces. It feels like the beginning, but overall rather like the end. As we stand isolated, shrouded in shadows and doubts, love - in all its forms and manifestations - emerges as the guiding light we yearn for. It's what brings us together when everything else seems to fall apart.

Ameli Paul has encapsulated the sentiment of our generation in their latest EP, "Love For One Another." The title track comes with a gloomy breakbeat, a fat 808 bass drum, captivating and dynamic vocals as well as a striking lead synth line. It’s about the devastating situation society has put itself in right now and invites the listener to share love with one another. The track is accompanied by a stunning music video directed by Harry Delgas, which transforms the feeling of the music into a dystopian visual experience. ‘Hangry’ adds a more sinister yet playful tone to the EP, paying tribute to the music of the 90s when utopias remained in the grasp of an earlier generation.

Speaking about the EP, Ameli Paul commented: 

“This EP reflects our melancholic yet hopeful thoughts about the world and our private lives. After playing those two tracks in our live set for the last year, we are more than content to finally release them on our home label Meiosis with a stirring remix by Skatman. For the lyrics we joined forces with Matija Vlatković, with whom we have collaborated with for the theater play ‘Invisible Game’ that addresses illegal pushbacks at the European border.” 

Skatman, who has gained a lot of recognition for his releases on labels likes Innervision and Correspondent, adds a reconstruction of Hangry in his distinctive style of blending old-school with the contemporary: “The idea was to reinterpret the track, into something danceable while keeping the soothing, soulful and dreamy characteristics of the original vocals.”

Scatcity’s label head Skatman debuts his first EP on the collective with ‘Back In The Zukunft’. After a series of appearances on the imprint, the Berlin based producer drops a powerful four tracker that sees the return of Ivory on the rework. 

Opening up with the title track, electric synths frantically riff over a rolling bassline, quickly morphing into a brooding alliance that combine and chug endlessly into the distance. 

With huge support already from Dixon, ‘Psyche’ makes out for a real peak time delivery from Skatman. A melodic synth line hovers effortlessly against a looming range of chords and a chunky bassline, opening its filters slowly as you become submersed deep into its dream like atmosphere.  

Rolling onto the B-side, a percussive groove lays the foundation for ‘Meraki’, as he leaves space for a gentle melody to gradually fill the mix, gathering its intensity as it suddenly morphs into an acidic strike.  

Welcoming back Ivory with, he flips ‘Meraki’ into a much darker and hypnotic charge, rounding off the EP and leaving one last mark on the dancefloor.

Dynamic favourite Magdalena returns with her powerful Wildlife EP, stepping straight into the limelight as she is warmly welcomed to the Rebellion family. 

When speaking about making the release, Magdalena describes how the Wildlife EP was created over the course of a year. “I hit the studio whenever I have a strong feeling or sense of passion”, she explains. This passion has led to the creation of three original productions that fit perfectly within the musical ethos of Rebellion. 

Opening the EP, Lizard is hypnotic and tense with a rhythmic bassline, swiftly followed by Elephantz with its dramatic piano stabs, tribal beat and rolling drum pads. The EP closes with the epic and emotive Bear's Back that fuses dark synths with flashes of percussion. 

Magdalena’s career as a DJ and producer continues to evolve and flourish. As one of the founding members of Solomun’s Diynamic label, Magdalena ran the label’s EGO nightclub in Hamburg. This EP comes at an exciting time as the talented artist takes her SHADOWS residency global. Having begun life as a successful day to night series of free parties in Ibiza, SHADOWS will be hitting the road in the New Year, starting in Tulum on the 13th January, followed by two mini tours in Berlin, Zurich and Hamburg in mid February and mid March respectively.
