A diverse ecosystem is the strongest, healthiest, and this effectively because the gene pool does not become too much of any one thing, thus more weakness or negative evolutionary traits. This week’s top techno chart is DIVERSE, and we live in such a healthy creative musical ecosystem that excites me and it makes even my heart start dancing in my chest. Hardwell delivered yet another stellar performance as one of the Sunday night headliners at the new TommorrowWorld festival. “MORE” is a powerful new collaboration between South African producer Haezer and Canadian trio Black Tiger Sex Machine. Clocking in at a slightly-slower 120 BPM, “MORE” nevertheless packs off-the-charts intensity thanks to its driving groove and pounding drums. The track also features hypnotic horn and synth layers in the buildups and intro that give the song a dark and gloomy feel. But the centerpiece of the track is its unusual bass line, created from a distorted vocoder sample - this is groundbreaking sound design that will still appeal to fans of conventional electro.

Pryda 028 is the first Pryda release to ever contain four tracks, and comes hot on the heels of the anthemic Eric Prydz summer hit ‘Liberate’.

These four tracks – Mija, Origins, Axis, & Backdraft - show another side to Pryda, one firmly rooted in the label’s club roots. Pryda 028 speaks to Prydz’ love of dark rooms and late nights, dancefloors with their heads down – audiences losing themselves in a journey, surrendering to the music, rather than demanding another recognizable drop.

Pryda 028 another genre defining release for Pryda – its house music but first and foremost it’s Pryda. The EP’s intricate blend and layering of harmonies and hooks, replete with that distinctive Prydz touch for melody, combine to make club music that just couldn’t come from anyone else.

Ten years and 28 releases in, Prydz and his Pryda label remain in the enviable position of straddling a line between the overground and underground, an achievement that is ever more difficult in the polarized world of contemporary electronic music.

Whether it’s a mainstage slot, or a dark after-hours session as his techno alias Cirez D, Prydz fans have come to expect something different and unique from the Swede. At a time when EDM festival mainstages homogenate, Prydz seems to stand further and further apart. For Pan-Pot's second release on their new imprint they fall nothing short of what you would expect from the infamous duo. 

"Grey Matter" is a stormer made especially for the intense peak time strobe lights of a dark sweaty club. The pulsing stabs and swelling bass in combination with the rolling hi-hats and shakers keep the energy flowing upward. 
Don't let the word grey in the title fool you, this track is more a burning red. Just like the deep ominous vocal says, "We're burning"!

On the flip side is "Substance“ and with this one, Pan-Pot showcase their vast knowledge of what tension can do on the dance floor. From beginning to end, it teases with builds that never quite go over the edge. Constantly increasing, it creates the desire for just a little more while never giving you the satisfaction of a resolution. 

It's a concept that only masters can make work and when it does, it's nothing short of brilliant.
