Born and reared in Memphis, TN, Crown Vega spent most  his early childhood with his grandmother in south Memphis not far from downtown where she would take him to hear live music from local musicians. As a teenager he relocated to north Memphis, in a community named “smoky city” where he lived until becoming a young adult. Always having a passion for music Vega has been influenced by artist such as 8 Ball & MJG, Three 6 Mafia, Rakim and UGK to name a few. Gifted with creativity and talent, Vega started rapping and freestyling along with his peers in middle school which sparked a flame that continued to grow. He started writing his own lyrics at a young age which helped him escape the reality of the troubles of his community. Along with the skill to cater a verse or hook for any track, with instruction from his brother "Mottini," became a studio engineer and music producer. Crown has worked on collaborations with some of Memphis' own underground legends and new comers to the game to take his place among the ranks.
