Octopath Traveler, Square's latest and in recent times, greatest JRPG.

In game, Therion is the thief archetype, and part of the "rogue" grouping, his opposite or "noble" mirror being Tressa the merchant. So, while I kept the first variant a similar ambient feel, with clean guitars and a warm synth, I wanted to express the more rogue/alternative nature with a harsher second pass.

In general, my arrangement was in some ways inspired by "Discovery" from Rush's 2112, starting with simple, single string patterns, gradually becoming a little more complex by adding in chords, then going with a more technical repeat.

Although I have not played the game myself, I've watched my brothers play Octopath Traveler. Altogether, this game has an engaging and deep story, wonderful aesthetic, and a beyond amazing score. Of all the tracks in the game that constantly would catch my ear, it was the Victory Fanfare theme. 

It was a beyond enjoyable song to cover and play around with despite the fact that I struggled with trying to find ways to extend the track beyond a 30 second loop. At first, I wanted a more drawn back and relaxed feel (hence the beginning) but, as always, I can't help but go big. 

Anyway, hope you enjoy. Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions. And, of course, feedback is much appreciated.
