Dimitra Milan is one of my favorite artists and recently released a new piece. It fits so well with my current season of life, learning to truly love myself the way God teaches me to and to see myself as God sees me. 

From the artist, as an inside scoop sent to her followers:
There are moments in life when we can feel deep in our bones that we are truly seen, known, and held by something greater than ourselves.
This painting is a glimpse into that kind of love. A sacred intertwining of heaven and earth—the way the Divine doesn’t stand far off but draws near to us, wrapping us in His beauty, in His presence, caring about every detail in our life. Each brushstroke holds that truth.
After a few months on my easel, this piece is finally done. It has challenged me in new ways as I try to bring the unseen forth, while staying true to the vision and feeling in my heart. I’ve never painted lambs or sheep before, and at first I thought it might be too strange to add in there. But there’s a certain kind of innocence only a sheep portrays, and I couldn’t ignore the calling I felt to them. 

A profound thought hit me while creating this painting, all about innocence. In order to truly love ourselves and feel the ultimate gift of God’s love and acceptance, we must believe deep in our hearts we are innocent. 

This is how He sees us. He doesn’t see our flaws or shortcomings, only the beauty within us. It’s in that place where we wholeheartedly accept God’s love without question…without wondering if we deserve it. 

Her heart is cradled in hands that are invisible but deeply felt. She hears a calling through the gentle wind, to put her faith into a bright and wonderful future. The path illuminates with golden light reminding that even when we cannot see the way forward, we are never walking alone.
“See the Way He Holds My Heart” is an invitation to remember: You are carried. You are beloved. You are woven into a story far bigger, and far more beautiful, than you could ever imagine…
