On several balmy afternoons in August of 2014 I walked into Grace Church, a beautiful 150 year-old stone church in Nyack, NY.  Craving a more organic, or at least a more unique recording environment — a literal sound-trapping vessel, outside of the guitar itself, and before considering a microphone — I had been seeking a space that had conceptual beginnings in, and literal constructions for the amplifying of vibration.  If I wasn’t going to record outside, I was going to record where the sound would literally sound… ‘good’. Where the sound itself could feel good, free, spacious, and content. Now within the stone walls of Grace Church, I tuned my two guitars.  I set up a microphone.  I set out a chair.  These are the one-take recordings that resulted.  Their name, “We The Seed”,  is meant to represent the collective consciousness and the collective work we each uniquely embody within our individual lives.
