I’m in the cloudforest of Monteverde, nursing a heartbreak that should have been gone by now. I think it will become a part of me, because we’re friends and we’re stubborn. A stalled romance can’t stop her or me. I can keep the hurt inside, and no one will know, unless they cut me open, and read my tree rings.

Saleem Hue Penny (him/friend) is a Black, disabled poet expanding the pastoral tradition of the Southern Black Belt using a "rural hip-hop blues" aesthetic. 

He punctuates his hybrid/mixed media work with drum loops, gouache paint, Jim Crow artifacts, walnut ink, field sounds, & birch bark. 

Across poetic mediums, he explores how young people of color traverse wild spaces and define freedom on their own terms.

I like metal (all kind), epic music, electronic music, ethnic and world music.
I like to try new things, I like to discover new types of music.
I mainly compose hybrid music. I try to blend ethnic, electronic and classical music together.

I'm French, I speak English and Japanese, both so poorly but I'm still happy to practice. I'm shy but I love to connect with people.

I use Cubase 11 and many virtual instruments and synths to produce my music.
