Hello Friends, I'm 8ball (JDW, Josh Damon, Josh). I started DJing in the 90s at SF underground parties and on the playa. I played mostly drum n bass at first, but quickly expanded genres—breaks, disco, hip hop, funk, sleaze, electro, and all sorts of stuff in-between. I'm one of the original members of the Bay Area arts and music collective, Space Cowboys.

Nuv8 is a side project I use now and then for mixing ambient, experimental, and leftfield stuff, including some originals.

Beatherder is definately one of my favourite places in the world. As anyone who has witnessed it will testify, its a place with no pretentions and just an 'effing good festival. For those that don't know its based in the north of the UK and is put together so lovingly by the organisers that it is up there with other festivals I've had the privelage to play, such as Fusion in Germany or Shambhala in Canada. 

This was my 7th year and the festival's 10th anniversary. Without fail each year tops the last and we (Bombstrikes & Sugarbeat) have been honored to host our own stage for most of the years I've been there. Finding our home in 'The Ring' for the last 2 years. 

This year I decided to record my set and share it with you all. Crossing all genres, the show is a chance for me to push some fresh bass, dig out some old party classics and have some FUN!! As music is supposed to be fun, right? This is from the Bombstrikes presents night on the Friday night. Play it loud and Enjoy!

Mechatronicast #1: Privacy

Months of blood, sweat, tears and fears over this DJ mix but music is about freedom of expression so this is my personal tribute to all the talented blessed souls that have influenced me and that are sadly no longer with us. Jason Laidback - Heroes in Heaven

I'm reading a fantastic book at the moment entitled, "Cosmic Serpent" by Jeremy Narby.  In it, is the story of a man that leads the reader through unexplored and uncharted jungles of anthropological studies, biology and the limits of rational thought.  
This collection of musical pieces have served as a soundtrack of sorts, while immersed in the exploration of what is possible beyond what we think we know.
My hope is that the listener is able to time travel with the set, weaving in and out of primal, calm and ritualistic emotional states.

Eric was instrumental in the early to mid 2000’s Breaks scene in San Francisco, playing with Breakthru and regularly featured in the now infamous Eklektic / Hektic weekly.  

Eric moved to Portland in 2021 and is bringing his refined transitions, tight programming and impeccable track selection to the Rose City.
