It&#8217;s time to celebrate our 100th release here at Pornographic, and what better way to do that, than bringing our friends over and having a blast. Opening with label boss Cristian Varela&#8217;s quirky &#8220;Ghost Bassers&#8221;, things quickly shift to dubbed-out territory with Gabriel D&#8217;Or &amp; Bordoy&#8217;s rendition. The Advent &amp; Industrialyzer are frantic as usual and Eric Sneo brings the tribal sensibilities to the table. Hollen&#8217;s bass-heavy affair passes the ball effortlessly to Axel Karakasis and his trademarked sound, while Steve Mulder nods firmly to the classics with &#8220;Paradox&#8221;. Alen Milivojevic rolls out another stormer and Paul Darey &amp; Hannes Bruniic stomp their way through the rubble. Adrian Oblanca&#8217;s sub bass and tasty edits prepare for the sealing of the deal and Dart. Darkman&#8217;s sleazy bassline brings it home.

The boss is back, and in his latest offering on Mudra he nods firmly towards the traditional sounds of the East. With the doumbek drum prominent throughout the whole affair, we are transported to a totally distant land, while lush pads provide an air of luxury and class. The accompanying vocal reinforces the spiritual tone, leaving the tough rhythm section to do the rest of the work. Also provided is the Epic mix, for those more special moments, where you just need the melodic elements to do the talking.

As we unfold the second instalment of our annual compilation of exclusive gems we couldn&#8217;t be more excited to have Mr. Eric Sneo kick things off with the aptly titled -yet grinding- &#8220;Beauty Of The Sky&#8221;, followed closely by the rocksteady groove and haunting electronics of Arjun Vagale. Rafa Barrios picks up from there, strips things down to a bare minimum and adds a cheeky sample which everyone will recognize. Paride Saraceni graces us with a heads-down number, complete with house strings and meaty chords, while Matt Sassari and Reinier Zonneveld give us the claustrophobic &#8220;Gas&#8221;. Closing up, Raffaele Rizzi&#8217;s &#8220;Rebus&#8221; constantly evolves and builds over a rubber-band bassline and commading vocals.

Lancelot is a producer/maker/doer before all else.

A graduate of Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music, Lancelot spent several years in touring bands before charging into the club scene in early 2013. Following a string of warmly received records and a constant touring schedule through Australia and Europe, it was 2014’s ‘Givin’ It Up’ EP on acclaimed UK label Anjunadeep that sprung Lancelot into the scene.

Lancelot closed 2014 touring the United States, before dropping a string of releases; ‘Connection’ on Anjunadeep, a well-received edit of Four Tet via the Deep House Amsterdam crew and most recently, a three track EP on Waze & Odyssey’s w&o Street Tracks imprint.

Lancelot has headlined clubs across the UK, Europe, United States and Asia, performed at festivals including Secret Garden Party (UK), Warehouse Project (UK), Field Day (Sydney) and TomorrowWorld (Atlanta) and warmed the wheels for Jamie Jones, Julio Bashmore, Horsemeat Disco and more.

Today, we present the latest from Lancelot, which comes by way of Sweden's Trunkfunk Records "15 Years of Trunkfunk" compilation. Featuring a medley of tracks that have shaped the sound of Trunkfunk, the release features four fresh exclusives, of which Lancelot's 'As It Were' is one.

Over Christmas 2014 I needed a break from recording
my album, searching online for a song I recalled from
my youth, I fell into a rabbit hole of thousands of
YouTube playlists and posts, rediscovering the songs
my friends and I would gather and listen to as
13 & 14 yr olds every Saturday in East Berlin on Radio DT64
(now Berlin's Radio Fritz).

I stumbled back to the future, collecting over 5000 songs
on YouTube, learning for the first time the artists behind
the songs we heard almost 25 years ago.

The forthcoming trilogy is the result of 18 month
of building edits from YouTube recordings and stitching
them together off-line. I could not include every song,
nor indeed even the entire tracks from this small period
until 1993, so this is my personal history of electronic
music arriving in Berlin.

This trilogy will not be sold, it was a labor of love,
born of nostalgia and made for sharing.

Eric Sneo brings the noise indeed and Chris The Voice proves to be a wicked commander-in-chief.

Starting off with the Pleasurekraft remix, we are of course treated to a completely different angle than that of the original, complete with anthemic stabs and quirky vocal play. 
A funked-out bassline sets the tone and the duo&#8217;s signature rhythm section stomps happily through the night.

The Night On Fire Mix rolls right in with militant stabs and sonar bleeps, letting grinding hats and the vocal do their business. Stabs twist and turn, while the drums pound away into a frenzy. 
The original mix offers a more roots approach, with sweet distortion taking over the stripped-down interpretation and Techno sensibilities oozing out of every crack.

Pleasurekraft&#8217;s dub seals the deal emphasizing on their own melodic elements, for those who are down with the more instrumental side of things.

Now an internationally successful DJ, Eric Sneo started learning to play musical instruments from a young age, after his grandfather introduced him to an accordion at only the age of 4, he went on to experiment with drums after buying a drum kit in his teenage years and started to attend local jazz shows, where he really learned how to improvise. In 1991 he saw Sven Vath playing in Frankfurt, and it was here when he fell in love with what he was listening to, and wanted to know more.

With his unique performances on the E-drums during his DJ sets, Eric swiftly developed into a distinctive and highly sought after international performer with his unforgettable sets. After he presented his unique “Art of Life” show at the Nature One Festival (2009) for the first time, he gained rave reviews throughout an exclusive festival tour of the show in the summer 2010 and 2011. Eric can combine his trademark groovy technoid DJ style with his live performance of a range of acoustic and electronic instruments, including E-Drums, E-accordion, percussion & didgeridoo.

In 2011 he launched his new Mudra Audio label, where he released his critically acclaimed album “Polarity” in March 2012. Supported by international artists like Laurent Garnier, Len Faki, Dubfire, Luciano, Gabriel Ananda and Cari Lekebusch, the album was highly successful, so much so much so, that Umek signed the album track “Shut Up & Dance” as a single for his 1605 label, which was released in August 2012.

With his successful “Move On” EP in 2013, he became a member of Christian Smith’s respected, forward-thinking Tronic family, a move that led to him to his 5th album of his career “Intensity’ which was released on Tronic in 2014. Much acclaimed support lead to a steady stream of hits on Tronic, with his “Move On” and “Metanoia” tracks remixed by Pig&Dan, Paco Osuna and Mendo.

Eric has announced he will be released his next album, which will be his second on Tronic in February 2017 with ‘Sound Traveler’. Featuring 14 original tracks which show Eric’s eagerness for experimentation. Providing full bodied beats and rolling basslines, closing the gap between tech-house and techno.
