AMRA is a visual artist and a rising Dj in the Toronto underground scenes, her deeply rooted connection to psychedelic music has led her to explore these sounds as a Dj in hopes of creating celestial experiences with her curated journeys. Playing across the psychedelic spectrum and BPM ranges she is known for her energy behind the decks, mixing and leading the dance floor to a state of trance. Passionate about culture and community, AMRA is also a resident dj, playing and curating lineups at Kalibr8 events and collaborating with many of Toronto’s event productions and Dj’s.

G'Day and welcome everyone, this is the IL MODO Podcast. Each week we take you on a tour of Planet Progressive, searching for the most exclusive beats and grooves we can lay our hands on. 

Today we are back in Australia, and the home of an ex-pat bringing the noise to his new setting. Manchester is still in the area though, so check out this exclusive set from Marcus Graham!

As a kid from the UK growing up in 1980s Manchester, Marcus was privileged to live through the Factory Records era and enjoy the booming music scene, reshaping the city’s image from ‘dirty old town’ to the global mecca of nightlife and creativity it is today. While the warehouse and club scene  began to bubble away, Marcus spent his early teens listening to mixtapes from the likes of Sasha (who began his career in Manchester) the DJs of the Thunderdome and Hippos (Jay and Moggy) and the legendary 808 State Show - at the age of 16 Marcus got an invite to the Sunset studios, and was asked to play a live  guest mix on the show, then shortly after he was booked to play his first club gig in the city, warming up at Parliament Nightclub.

He spent many years clubbing and DJ'ing around Manchester and the City Centre, developing his style, and taking influences from the DJs of the Hacienda, Bugged Out and Tangled. He soon became hooked on the Progressive House scene led by Sasha, John Digweed, Renaissance, Cream and the Global Underground mix series, and, after a summer DJ'ing in Cyprus in 1999, returned to Manchester.

He subsequently held several residencies in Clubs & Bars around the City; Dry Bar, Joshua Brooks, South, the wonderful sweatbox where he had spent his twenties bouncing, Tangled and more recently Soundcontrol. These gigs gave Marcus the opportunity to DJ with many of his idols, such as Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff, Hybrid and Ashley Casselle.

30 years on, now living in Cairns, Australia, Marcus still hunts new sounds to share with anyone who will listen to this veteran of the Progressive House scene, creating mixes for a series called Just Add Sunshine, as well as producing guest mixes for other online platforms.

About JELLY FOR THE BABIES:
Back in 2004, the fusion of the sounds of soft and mystical house rhythms as well as harmonic parts inspired by trance music gave rise to the first ideas of a project that would only start to appear more actively on the edm scene a little later, a project called Jelly For The Babies.

What adorns the producer behind the above-mentioned project is the variety in his creations, playing with synths and rhythms, experimentation that eventually led to his sound being easily recognizable.

Just like his spirit, his music is not bound by genre, but is "free", and you can see the releases signed both for progressive and techno, as well as for publishing houses that cultivate the sound of deep, minimal and organic house music.

Therefore, the very thing that makes him original leads to his music, throughout his career, being supported, both through sets and through the charts, by artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn, John Digweed, Way Out West, Guy J and many others.
Then come the first international guest appearances, tours, festivals and club parties in Lithuania, Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa, Holland, Italy as well as countries in the region.

Graduated Audio & Video engineer as well as the owner of three publishing houses, The Purr, One Of A Kind and RYNTH, where he mentioned discovering new talents, giving young producers a chance, promoting them in the best possible way and mutual cooperation with more experienced colleagues as the key thing .

If I had to define my existence, it would not be written in a book, but played through notes in life over the years.

From early childhood car rides soundtracked by Jean-Michel Jarre to headlining underground club nights across the UK, Erik’s journey through electronic music has always been one of deep connection and evolution. Based on the South Coast of England, his love affair with sound began in the most organic of ways — through the speakers of his family’s car, where electronic music first captured his imagination.

“Music was always playing at home, but it was those long holiday drives with Jarre that really imprinted something on me. That’s where it all started.”

By the early ’90s, Erik had taken to the decks, diving headfirst into the UK’s vibrant club culture. What followed was a decades-spanning path through residencies, raves, and underground venues — including standout stints at Bournemouth’s flagship progressive and techno night Terminal, as well as the Twisted Global parties that defined a generation of South Coast dance music lovers.

Erik’s sound is fluid yet unmistakably his own. His DJ sets move seamlessly between deep house, progressive trance, atmospheric breaks, and driving techno — built on a foundation of lush textures, haunting melodies, and tightly wound grooves. Whether warming up a room or closing it down, Erik’s sets are more than just selections — they’re sonic narratives crafted for the dancefloor.

As a producer, Erik brings the same storytelling sensibility into the studio. His productions have caught the ears of a diverse group of global tastemakers, earning support from legends such as Nick Warren, Umek, Cristian Varela, and Meat Katie. With releases on respected imprints like Lowering the Tone, Prognosis, Krafted Records, AH Digital, Gibbon Records, and Wight Label Records, Erik has built a discography that balances depth, energy, and emotional resonance.

Now serving as the President DJ for Bournemouth-based Revibe Emotions, Erik continues to contribute to the scene — not just as a performer or producer, but as a curator, mentor, and ambassador for the underground. Whether on stage or in the studio, his mission remains the same: to create meaningful musical experiences that move bodies, stir emotions, and stay with listeners long after the final beat..
