Erik Rust is an indie artist forging his own sound. Living in the Western Cape of South Africa surrounded by nature, inspiration is never far away. Born and raised a country boy in the small town of Ceres, music has always had a special place in his heart. Recently being awarded the honour of artist of the month by The Akademia Awards (Los Angeles) as well as having his first single entering top twenty charts across the country Erik has shown that his music is in line with what people are longing for. 

Focused on genres such as rock, pop, country and jazz his sound has been said to touch the soul and leave a little bit behind. Primarily focused on vocals the music Erik creates emphasise simplicity and clarity. Erik writes, produces and records all of his own music, born from a dream to create music exactly as he intends. There are often more than one message hidden within the subtexts of the lyrics and melodies, music written for the critical listener.  Having worked with artists such as Blackbyrd, Dennis East, Lance James and Tommy Dell, Erik is now focussed on creating his first album of original music. This is culminated in a year long project called #OneSongOneMonth.
