Wrapped in organ ghostings, a bass melody duets with a wordless gospel voice, while an electric sitar and echoed percussion lead the melody to the whole choir chanting in a uplifting out chorus.

The Wind Sings a Strange Song

A 'trippy' atmosphere, a cinematic cross between space music and a spy adventure, gives this track it's other-worldly aura. A ghosting synth line gives way to an electric sitar, a howling fretless, and around 2:15, a percussion rhythm from a Brazilian chorus line sets you down near the Rings of Saturn.

"A Trick of the Wind" is the fifth solo album from Erik Scott. Scott's fourth solo album, "In The Company of Clouds," received Zone Music Reporter (ZMR) awards for Album of the Year and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2016. It was also a #1 at Echoes syndicated radio. 

 "A Trick of the Wind" is brilliant, enlightened, and enlightening.  It's a musical work of art to be appreciated on many levels, not only because of how well done it is overall, but also because you can hear the heart that pours out of every note. Multi-textured. Contemporary. Unique. If I have to call it something, I'm going to call it "Progressive New Age".
