Bass Coast Festival ( @bass-c0ast ) was by far one of the best experiences I’ve had attending and playing at a festival and to make it even better , so many friends I hadn’t seen in so long were there to share that experience with! Huge shoutout to @librarianmusic & The Bass Coast Street Team for such a well run festival and for the hospitality (lost my wallet and they found it within an hour 😅). Was fun catching up with everyone at all the camps including Camp T & T 😂 and If you cried with me at the end of my set in the beautifully constructed Cabin Stage, I also love you too 🥹 Until next yearrrrr! Shambhala 2024 Mix - MonkeyTwerk at The LivingRoom Stage

I've spent a lot of time over the last year digging deep into my relationship patterns and attachment issues. 

First and foremost, I've learned how to love myself more.

Along the way, I've unpacked old habits, sat with uncomfortable truths, and figured out how to show up for myself and others in much healthier ways. It's been messy and difficult, but ultimately a necessary chapter in understanding the roots of how I connect with the world.

I'm still in it. Still learning. Still uncovering. Still making mistakes. But at least now I'm more aware of the underlying mess.

Last week, I put together a set that was my way of musically processing part of this journey. I planned on keeping it under wraps for a while and playing it out a few more times, but tbh it was emotional enough the two times I played it live. It's time to put a bow on it and put this part behind me. 

Normally I spend far too much time perfecting my mixes and the art, but I'm just going to throw this out into the universe as the imperfect, beautiful mess it is (and as I am).

Starting in the misty past of the last century, Erik was taken to a party that he rather enjoyed, which started a habit of having way too much fun dancing to really loud music in unlikely places. Not too long after that first party, he had his own sound system, and carted it all over the deserts, forests and warehouses of southern california to help give other people loud music to dance to. While doing that, he noticed that DJs were having a lot of fun, and figured he should give it a shot. More than a decade after first getting behind the decks, he's still at it, with most of what he plays now falling somewhere in the giant and wonderful family tree of House music. Exactly which branch depends on where and when, but basslines are always key, funk is essential, and a little melody now and then never hurt anyone.
